Overhead Concealed Closers
We stock overhead concealed door closers from LCN (2010, 3030, 5010, 5030, 6030 Series) and dormakaba (8000 Series) for applications where visible closer hardware doesn't meet the design specification.
What Door and Frame Prep Is Required for Overhead Concealed Closers?
Overhead concealed closers can't be field-installed into standard doors and frames. The arm track recesses into the door top. The closer body recesses into the frame header. Both require pockets and slots cut at the factory before the door and frame are fabricated. If you're specifying a concealed closer on a project, the door and frame shop drawings must include the closer prep dimensions for the specific model. Get the closer selection finalized before shop drawings are issued. Late substitutions from concealed to surface-mounted are common, costly, and avoidable.
LCN Concealed Closer Series by Spring Power and Application
LCN 2010 Series: light-duty, interior low-traffic doors. LCN 3030 Series: medium-duty interior. LCN 5010 and 5030 Series: heavy-duty, higher spring power range for larger or heavier doors. LCN 6030 Series: heavy-duty for exterior applications. The series number tells you the spring power range. Confirm the door size and weight are within the selected series' spring power range before ordering.
