Arrow BM12 Storeroom Mortise Lock

The Arrow BM12 is the storeroom function in the BM Series lever mortise lock, ANSI F07. The outside lever is always rigid. No push button, no toggle, no free state for the outside lever at any time. A key in the outside cylinder retracts the latch for entry. The inside lever is always free for egress without a key. The auxiliary latchbolt automatically deadlocks the main latch bolt when the door closes, preventing shimming or carding of the latch.

How ANSI F07 Storeroom Function Works

The outside lever is permanently rigid. It doesn't operate the latch under any condition other than key use. Inserting a key in the outside cylinder and turning retracts the latch for entry. Removing the key returns the cylinder to a locked position. The door is immediately secured again after the person enters without any manual relocking step required. Inside, the lever operates freely at all times. Occupants exit without a key, without pressing any button, and without any delay. The auxiliary latchbolt ensures that the latch can't be retracted from outside by shimming the door gap while the door is closed.

This is the correct function for any opening where the door should never be unlocked from outside without key authorization, and where re-locking between entries should be automatic.

The BM12 ships standard with a 6-pin conventional cylinder. Keying options include master keying, construction master keying, and visual key control.
