Trine vs. HES: When Brand Matters on an Electric Strike
HES is ANSI Grade 1 certified and the institutional specification standard. Trine is UL listed and carries comparable performance specs, but without the ANSI Grade 1 certification that some institutional projects require. For schools, hospitals, and government facilities where the specification names ANSI Grade 1, specify HES. For light commercial, multi-family residential, and budget-sensitive projects where ANSI Grade 1 certification isn't required, Trine is a legitimate value-tier alternative at a lower per-unit cost.
Trine EN Series: The Narrow-Body Electric Strike
The Trine EN Series is a narrow-profile electric strike for applications where limited frame space prevents standard-body electric strike installation. The EN body is narrower than the 4100 Series, making it appropriate for retrofits on existing frame preps that don't have room for a full-size strike body. If the existing frame prep can't accommodate a standard HES 5000 body width, the Trine EN may fit where HES doesn't.
Trine 4100 Series: Standard Cylindrical Electric Strike
The Trine 4100 Series is the standard cylindrical latchbolt electric strike for light commercial applications. Non-handed, 12/24VDC, fail-safe or fail-secure field selectable on most models.
