About this item
The BEA 475S-900 is a complete wireless push plate activation kit for automatic door operators - two stainless steel square push plates, two 10BOX475SQSM surface mount boxes, two 10TD900PB 900MHz hardwired transmitters, and one 10RD900 900MHz digital receiver, all in a single package. It ships as everything you need to add wireless ADA push-to-open activation to one set of automatic doors without running wire between the plates and the operator. American Locksets stock the 475S-900.
What's in the Kit and What Each Part Does
PBS1 Square Push Plates (qty 2)
Each PBS1 is a 4-3/4" x 4-3/4" stainless steel push plate with "PUSH TO OPEN" text and the international accessibility/handicap symbol. Plate thickness is 1/6". Mounting screws are on the outside face of the plate - that means you can pull a plate for service without taking it out of commission or disassembling the box behind it. A weather boot sits between the plate and the back plate, sealing the assembly for outdoor and wet-area applications.
10BOX475SQSM Surface Mount Boxes (qty 2)
The 10BOX475SQSM is a 4-3/4" square ABS plastic surface mount back box sized specifically for BEA's PBS series 4.75" push plates. It mounts directly to the wall and houses the 10TD900PB transmitter inside, keeping all the electronics concealed behind the plate. If you need flush mount instead of surface mount, that requires a different box model - the 10BOX475SQSM is surface mount only.
10TD900PB Hardwired Transmitters (qty 2)
The 10TD900PB is a compact hardwired 900MHz push button transmitter - 1.75" wide, 0.3" tall, 1.0" deep - sized to sit inside a standard push plate back box. It connects to the push plate contacts directly so that when someone presses the PBS1 plate, the transmitter fires a 900MHz signal to the 10RD900 receiver at the door operator. No wire runs from the wall plate to the door. The transmitter is battery powered (30mA draw) and converts any standard push plate from a hardwired activation point to a wireless one.
10RD900 Wireless Receiver (qty 1)
The 10RD900 is a 900MHz digital receiver module that mounts at the door operator and wires to the door control input. It accepts 12-24VAC or 12-24VDC supply voltage and outputs through an SPDT relay (COM, NO, NC contacts) rated 1.0A at 30VAC and 0.5A at 125VAC. One 10RD900 can store and respond to up to 75 transmitters - useful for vestibule setups, multi-plate installations, and future expansion without replacing the receiver. Tri-color LED on the receiver face shows signal strength during install so you can verify coverage before closing up the wall. Red LED shows learn mode active. Blue LED confirms relay activation on each press.
DIP switches on the receiver set the relay operating mode: delay open (releases the relay after a programmed delay for door sequencing), extended hold (keeps the relay active for longer hold-open periods), or pulse/toggle (standard momentary or latching output). Delay duration is set via the delay learn potentiometer.
The 10RD900 uses frequency hopping across 908-918MHz. That hopping pattern, combined with the 900MHz band itself, gives the signal better penetration through walls, partitions, and low-emissivity glass than older 315MHz or 433MHz legacy frequencies - important in vestibule applications where the receiver is behind a glass wall from the push plates.
Important installation note: The 10RD900 relay output is rated for low-current loads. Do not wire it directly to a maglock or electric strike - the inductive kickback from those loads will damage the receiver relay over time. For maglock or strike control, wire the 10RD900 output through a BEA BR3 logic module or a standalone isolation relay first.
