About this item
The Simplex 5067 isn't the same lock as the knob-based 1011. Same idea: mechanical buttons, no batteries, no cards, no network. But this one has a mortise body with a deadbolt, an actual lever handle (ADA compliant), and solid cast housing built for doors that take real abuse indoors and out. If your door has a standard cylindrical prep, you want the 1000 Series. If it has mortise prep or you're specifying mortise on new construction, the 5067 is the right pick.
The deadbolt is what separates this from the entry-function 5000 Series models. When the lock is in lockout mode, the deadbolt is thrown and the outside lever is dead. The only way back in from outside is through the IC core with a key. That's the highest security configuration in the 5000 Series for a standard door opening.
One thing to sort out before ordering: the IC core doesn't come in the box. The "B" in 5067BWL means the lock is machined for a BEST Small Format Interchangeable Core. You can either supply your own from an existing BEST IC program, or add an Arrow/Falcon SFIC combinated core at checkout for. Without a core installed, the passage and lockout modes won't work. If those features matter to your application, add the core when you order.
The Simplex 5000 Series installation guide (Simplex_5000.pdf) is available in the Resources section on this page. If you landed here looking for the 5021XSWL-26D-41 manual, that model is covered in the same PDF. The 5021 is in the related products on this page as well.

How the 5000 Series models compare
5021: Entry plus key override. Lever, no deadbolt. Code gets you in; the cylinder gives you a mechanical backup.
5031: Entry, key override, and passage. Passage unlocks the outside lever without the code.
5041: Entry, key override, passage, and lockout. Full feature set.
5067 (this one): Mortise body with deadbolt. Throws a physical bolt in addition to latch control. Lockout disables the code entirely until the cylinder resets it.
All four are the same mechanical pushbutton principle. The function number tells you what the lock does beyond basic combination entry.
