About this item
The Dormakaba TS9315 uses something different: a cam and roller. The cam rotates as the door opens, and its shape is engineered so the resistance drops off fast in the middle of the door swing. A door with a cam-and-roller closer feels noticeably lighter to push through its opening arc compared to a same-size rack-and-pinion closer. Near the latch position, the geometry reverses and the closing force increases to ensure the door latches reliably every time.
The PT in TS9315-PT means Push Side Track. The closer body mounts on the push side of the door opening (the side you push). The arm from the closer body connects to a track rail mounted on the door face, and as the door swings open, the slide pin travels along that track instead of pivoting at a fixed point. This gives you a wider opening angle than most standard arms allow and eliminates the knuckle interference that happens when a fixed arm tries to extend past 90 degrees. ADA and Barrier-Free Compliance
The TS9315 meets ANSI/BHMA A117.1 and ADA requirements for barrier-free accessibility. The adjustable spring size 1-5 allows the installer to set the opening force to the 5 lb maximum required for interior accessible doors. On barrier-free entrances where ADA opening force compliance is a hard code requirement, the spring size needs to be set correctly during installation -too tight and the door fails the accessibility requirement, too loose and it won't reliably latch in a wind load situation. The TS93 Series Catalog and Installation Instructions (both available in the Resources section on this page) cover spring size adjustment procedures.

TS9315-PT vs Standard ARP Arm: Why Track Matters
The standard adjustable regular/parallel (ARP) arm pivots at both ends: one end attaches to the closer body, the other to the frame. As the door opens, the arm bends. The track arm replaces that second fixed pivot with a slide. The arm pin travels along the track on the door face. This does a few things: it allows wider door opening angles, it reduces the mechanical stress on the arm at extreme openings, and it changes the closing force curve across the swing. On fire exit doors and ADA-compliant barrier-free entrances where controlled closing is critical, the track arm configuration gives the installer more precise control over the door's behavior through the full 0-to-open-to-closed cycle.
