About this item
The Alarm Lock Sirenlock 700 and 710 are alarmed panic exit push bar devices for exit doors that need to stay closed without a lock -think stairwells, secondary exits, warehouse rear doors, and emergency egress doors in schools, offices, and residential buildings. Push the bar and the door opens immediately for egress, but it also triggers a blaring 95dB dual-tone Piezo alarm that notifies anyone nearby the door was used. The alarm is designed to deter unauthorized use without blocking emergency exit in any way.
Both the 700 and 710 are UL Listed panic alarm deadbolt devices. An ASSA ABLOY product under the Alarm Lock brand, now part of Napco Security Technologies.
Model 700 vs Model 710: The Alarm Reset Difference
The 700 and 710 are identical in hardware, dimensions, and sound level. The only difference is how the alarm resets after being triggered.
Model 700: Selectable between 2-minute alarm cutoff and manual reset. In cutoff mode, the alarm runs for 2 minutes, then shuts itself off. The door stays locked and the unit is ready for the next event. In manual reset mode, the alarm keeps sounding until someone with the key silences it.
Model 710: Selectable between 2-minute auto reset and manual reset. The 710's "auto reset" means after 2 minutes, the unit resets completely and is ready for the next alarm cycle without any key intervention.
Choose the 700 if you want the alarm to stop on its own but not auto-arm. Choose the 710 if you want completely hands-off operation where the device resets and is ready for the next cycle automatically.
Both models are MEA approved and available in 33" and 48" bar lengths.
Deadbolt and Deadlatch Construction
Unlike basic door alarms that just beep when a door opens, the Sirenlock 700/710 has an actual 1" throw deadbolt made of heavy die-cast zinc alloy with reinforced steel inserts. It also includes a deadlatch that meets relatching requirements. The combination of deadbolt and deadlatch gives this device real physical security when the door is properly closed, not just an audible deterrent.
The lock bolt engages automatically when the door closes. A standard RIM cylinder is required for key control from inside (and outside if needed) -the cylinder is not included and must be ordered separately. Most standard RIM cylinders are compatible.
Power, Battery Life, and AC Option
The 700 and 710 run on one standard 9V alkaline battery (included). Standby current draw is 7 micro-amps, which means the battery lasts about one year in standby. The unit handles approximately 200 alarm sequences before battery replacement, or 7 hours of continuous constant alarm. An audible low battery warning lets you know when it's time to replace before you lose protection.
For applications where battery replacement is impractical, the optional PP100 or AC9 power supplies convert the unit to AC power with battery backup.
Operating temperature: 20°F to 135°F (-7°C to 57°C). Mounting height: center of unit approximately 38" from floor.
