About this item
The Arrow QL11-SR is a Grade 1 cylindrical entrance lever lock with the Sierra (SR) lever design in rigid lever configuration. Entrance function means the inside lever is always free for egress, and the outside lever requires a key to retract the latch. The rigid lever designation means the outside lever stays fixed in position when the lock is secured. It doesn't rotate or give way under force, which is why it's specified for doors where lever tamper resistance is required alongside standard entrance function.
It's an ASSA ABLOY manufactured product under the Arrow brand. American Locksets is an authorized Arrow dealer.
What Rigid Lever Means and When to Specify It
Arrow's QL Series offers two outside lever configurations. The freewheeling version (QL81) spins freely when the lock is locked, absorbing torque from forced lever attempts without internal damage. The rigid version (QL11-SR) holds the lever locked in position. When the lock is secured, the outside lever does not rotate.
Rigid lever is the correct specification for applications where the lever needs to feel fully locked to the user, where outside lever tamper indication matters, or where the specification document calls for a rigid outside lever function. Both the QL11 rigid and QL81 freewheeling carry the same Grade 1 certifications. The choice between them is a function specification decision, not a quality decision.
Certifications and Compliance
ANSI/BHMA A156.2, Series 4000, Grade 1. UL and cUL listed for use on 3-hour, A-label single swinging doors. Federal Specification FF-H-106C. ANSI A117.1 Accessibility Code. California State Reference Code compliant (lever returns to within 1/2" (13mm) of door face). ADA compliant per Section 4.13.9 (lever-operated mechanism, no pinching or twisting required).
Physical Specifications
Lock chassis: Cold rolled steel with zinc dichromated finish for rust resistance. Latch retractor is precision cast steel. The extra-long bearing sleeve gives added support to interlocking tubes and improves lever rigidity throughout the product's service life.
Latch: Stainless steel, 1/2" (13mm) throw. UL listed with guarded latchbolt on all locking functions. Latch front: 1-1/8" x 2-1/4" for 2-3/4" (70mm) backset.
Lever: Sierra style, pressure cast zinc, 4-3/4" (121mm) in length.
Rose: Wrought brass, 3-11/32" (85mm) diameter. A built-in catch on the outside insert prevents the rose scalp from working loose during installation or ongoing use.
Total projection from door face: 2-17/32" (65mm).
Handing: Non-handed. Levers operate bi-directionally without modification.
Door thickness: 1-3/4" (44mm) to 2" (51mm) standard.
Backset: 2-3/4" (70mm) standard.
Strike and Cylinder Options
Strike: Brass, bronze, or stainless steel. ANSI A115.2, 4-7/8" x 1-1/4" curved lip strike standard. Optional 2-3/4" x 1-1/8" strike available. All strikes carry 1-1/4" lip-to-center dimension.
Cylinder: Arrow A keyway standard on the SR configuration. Interchangeable core (IC) prep available, suffix IC to the design number. IC version accepts 6 or 7 pin cores from Best, Falcon, Medeco Keymark, and other manufacturers and ships less core but includes both 6 and 7 pin tailpieces. Construction cores are available temporarily until the permanent IC is installed. UL437-rated cylinder available for pick and drill resistance in high-security applications.
Installation and Keying
Two-screw lockset installation simplifies field setup and reduces install time. Through-bolted trim provides proper alignment and increased security. Keyed into new or existing Arrow or competitive key systems. Master keying and construction master keying available. Finishes: 26D Satin Chrome, 03 Bright Brass, 613E Dark Bronze, BSP Bright Stainless.
