About this item
Not every door needs a keyed entry from both sides. Storage rooms, utility closets, maintenance areas, server rooms, and interior commercial spaces often need a deadbolt that only one person can operate from the inside, with no key cylinder on the outside at all. That's exactly what the Cal-Royal ID60 is designed for. It's a one-sided deadbolt in the T220 series that throws and retracts only by inside thumbturn, with a clean blank plate covering the exterior bore hole. No outside trim, no outside cylinder, no key access from the exterior.
It's a straightforward product with a specific job, and it does that job well. Browse our full selection of cylindrical deadbolts if you need a keyed configuration alongside this one for the same project.
How the ID60 One-Sided Deadbolt Works
Operation is inside-only. The deadbolt is thrown or retracted by the interior thumbturn exclusively. The exterior face of the door gets a blank plate that covers the bore hole, so from the outside there's nothing to grab, turn, pick, or attack. The blank plate accommodates standard 1-5/8" and 2-1/8" bore holes, which means it installs cleanly over most pre-drilled door preps without additional modification.
This design is intentional. It's not a privacy function. It's a dedicated single-side security lock for applications where outside key entry is not required and where an unobtrusive exterior appearance is preferred.

ADA Ergonomic Thumbturn
The ID60's thumbturn is ergonomically designed to meet ADA operation requirements. It can be turned with a single hand without tight grasping, pinching, or wrist rotation. For commercial buildings where ADA compliance applies to interior hardware, that's not a checkbox. It's a code requirement that this lock satisfies out of the box.
Tapered Cylinder Guard Security
Even though there's no outside cylinder on the ID60, the housing includes a tapered cylinder guard on the interior side. If someone attempts to remove or attack the thumbturn mechanism, the guard turns freely under torque rather than allowing force transfer. This is the same anti-pick, anti-pull protection used on Cal-Royal's keyed deadbolt series, carried over to the one-sided configuration.
Where Is the ID60 Typically Installed?
Commercial and institutional applications include server rooms, mechanical rooms, electrical closets, interior storage rooms, janitorial closets, pharmacy back rooms, and any interior door where staff lock from the inside during occupancy but outside key access is not required. It's also a common spec for commercial restroom applications and hotel utility corridors.
For facility managers completing a larger door schedule, the ID60 pairs naturally with the T220 single-cylinder deadbolt on adjacent keyed openings, allowing consistent hardware from one manufacturer across the building.
