About this item
The Control iD iDUHF Lite is a compact long-range UHF tag reader and standalone access controller built for vehicle gate access in commercial parking facilities, gated residential communities, condominium parking garages, corporate fleet entrances, and any application where drivers need hands-free entry without rolling down the window or stopping to swipe a credential. Reads UHF passive tags from up to 35-40 feet (12 meters) away depending on tag type and antenna positioning, with a 30-degree horizontal capture angle per side (60-degree total field of view). Built-in IP65 weather protection for full outdoor mounting on gate posts, parking arms, or driveway columns. Onboard storage for over 200,000 registered users and over 200,000 access records, with embedded web software for configuration, scheduling, and reporting accessed directly from any browser through the unit's TCP/IP connection. 1 native 10/100 Ethernet port, 1 RS-485 with 120 Ohm termination, 1 RS-232, 1 output relay (30VAC/5A), 1 native Wiegand output for integration with existing access control panels, plus trigger and door sensor inputs. 12V DC external power supply (sold separately), 3.5W (300mA) total consumption.
About Control iD and the iDUHF Product Family
Control iD is a Brazilian access control manufacturer (founded 2006, headquartered in São Paulo) with a growing presence in the North American security distribution channel. The company specializes in biometric access controllers, fingerprint readers, facial recognition, and the iDUHF family for vehicle access via long-range UHF RFID. The iDUHF Lite (this product) is the compact standalone model designed for single-gate installations where one antenna is sufficient to cover the approach lane. For larger installations needing multiple antennas, dual-direction reading (entry + exit), or longer read distances, Control iD offers the full-size iDUHF as the step-up option. Both share the same vehicle tag ecosystem and the same web management software, so a building can start with the iDUHF Lite on a single entrance and expand to the full iDUHF on additional gates without reissuing tags. For the broader Control iD lineup including biometric and proximity card models, see the Control iD Access Controller category within Electric Switches under Electronic Hardware.

When to Specify the iDUHF Lite vs the Full-Size iDUHF
The iDUHF Lite is the right call when these conditions are met: the installation is a single-direction gate with one approach lane, the read distance requirement is within the 35-40 foot range, only one antenna position is needed to cover the lane, and the installation is on a corporate, residential, or condominium property with a manageable user count (under 200,000). Common applications include residential gated community vehicle entries, condominium parking garage entry gates, small-to-medium corporate parking lot perimeter gates, fleet operation yard entrances, mixed-use developments with separated tenant parking, hotel valet/staff parking entry, and self-storage facility vehicle gates. Step up to the full-size iDUHF when the installation needs separate readers for entry and exit lanes (two-direction installations), multi-antenna coverage for wider lanes or angled approaches, longer read distances beyond 12 meters, or integration with multiple gates simultaneously from a single controller.
Compatible Tags and Integration Notes
The iDUHF Lite reads Control iD's IP65-rated UHF passive vehicle tags (windshield-mount, weather-sealed for full outdoor automotive use). Tags are sold separately and ordered based on the deployed user count. For installations integrating with existing access control head-end systems (Lenel, Software House, S2, Genetec, AMAG, Honeywell), use the Wiegand output to send credential data downstream. For standalone installations, the embedded web software handles user enrollment, scheduling, and reporting without external dependencies. The output relay (30VAC/5A) drives most barrier-arm gate operators and slide-gate motor control boards directly, eliminating the need for a separate relay interface in most installations. For installations requiring backup power, pair with an Altronix Power Supply sized for 12V DC 1A or larger to provide line-conditioned power plus battery backup capability. For overall electronic hardware integration accessories, see Access Control Accessories and Power Supply categories.
