About this item
Not every commercial door needs a lever handle. Some openings need a deadbolt only: stairwells, mechanical rooms, exterior secondary doors, and institutional spaces where the door swings freely during operating hours but needs to be dead-secured outside of them. The Corbin Russwin ML2013 is the single cylinder deadlock function in the ML2000 mortise lock body. The deadbolt is thrown and retracted by key from the outside and by thumbturn from the inside. There's no exterior lever, no latch, and no push button. Just a deadbolt with the full Grade 1 ML2000 Series construction behind it, UL Listed for fire-rated doors up to 3 hours, certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.13 Series 1000, and backed by a 10-year limited warranty.

How the ML2013 Single Cylinder Deadlock Works
The ML2013 carries the cylinder x thumbturn deadlock function. From the outside, a key in the cylinder throws or retracts the 1" stainless steel deadbolt. From the inside, the thumbturn operates the deadbolt directly without a key. The inside thumbturn is always operational for immediate egress. The outside cylinder can be removed and replaced with any compatible conventional, large format IC, or small format IC cylinder without removing the lockbody from the door. The cylinder-to-knob center-to-center spacing is 3-5/8", and the thumbturn-to-knob center-to-center spacing is 2-7/16", matching standard ML2000 Series door prep dimensions.
This function differs from a standard mortise entrance lock in one key way: there is no latch bolt that retracts by lever. The only hardware on the door face is the cylinder position on the outside and the thumbturn position on the inside. For openings that also require a latch bolt, the ML2054 entrance function or ML2057 storeroom function is the appropriate specification.

Cylinder Options and Key System Compatibility
The ML2013 ships standard with a conventional 6-pin L4 keyway cylinder, 0-bitted. It integrates directly with existing Corbin Russwin master key systems and accepts cylinders from most other manufacturers. Available cylinder upgrade options include 7-pin conventional, visual key control, concealed key control, interchangeable core (IC) in small format or large format for SFIC or LFIC master key programs, security cylinders, Pyramid high-security cylinders, blockout cylinders, and flex head cylinders. For compatible cylinder options, browse our cylinders, cores, and keys catalog.
Patented Quick Reversible Feature
The ML2000 lockbody uses Corbin Russwin's patented Quick Reversible feature. Handing can be reversed in the field without disassembling the lock case from the door. On a deadlock application, this matters when a door is rehung, moved to a different opening during a renovation, or when the door swing is changed during construction. No specialist tools or additional parts are required.
ML2013 vs. Standalone Auxiliary Deadlock
The ML2013 is a mortise body deadlock, not an auxiliary deadlock. It fits into the standard ANSI A115 mortise door prep and provides deadbolt security as part of the door prep rather than as a secondary lock added above or below a primary lock. This approach delivers a cleaner door face appearance, a single door prep, and compatibility with the entire ML2000 Series trim ecosystem for future function changes if ever needed.
