The Corbin Russwin ML2057 is the storeroom and closet function within the ML2000 Series mortise lockset line, one of the most widely specified Grade 1 mortise platforms in commercial, institutional, and government construction. ANSI function F07 defines exactly how this lockset operates: the inside grip is always free, allowing anyone inside to exit at any time. The outside grip is always rigid. Entry from the outside requires a key to retract the latchbolt. The auxiliary latch deadlocks the latchbolt automatically when the door closes, preventing the bolt from being pushed back without a key.

That combination makes the ML2057 the correct specification for server rooms, storage closets, supply rooms, pharmacy dispensaries, medical record rooms, file rooms, and any commercial opening where authorized key entry must be enforced from the outside while unrestricted egress is maintained from the inside.

The ML2000 series is built for environments where lesser hardware fails. Corbin Russwin designed this lockset for high-traffic abusive conditions in offices, schools, hospitals, hotels, and industrial facilities, and the construction reflects that intent at every point.

The Patented Quick Reversible feature lets the ML2057 lockset be re-handed in the field without opening the lock case, which removes the scheduling risk on fast-track projects and simplifies stocking across mixed-hand door schedules. Finish 626 (Satin Chrome) is the most frequently specified for institutional applications.

Lever and Trim Selection

The ML2057 is available in Lustra, Newport, Regis, Citation, Armstrong, Dirke, Essex, and Princeton lever designs across Brass, Bronze, and Stainless Steel finishes. Lustra, Newport, Essex, and Princeton levers comply with codes requiring the lever to return within 1/2" of the door face. Citation, Newport, Armstrong, and Princeton designs support a laser engraving option for room identification. Dirke levers are handled and not field reversible; specify handling when ordering.

For facilities requiring additional security beyond the standard ML2000, Corbin Russwin's ML2000VR variant adds vandal-resistant stainless steel escutcheons with tapered edges and Torx pin tamper-resistant screws. Pyramid and Access 3 high-security cylinders are also compatible, adding a second set of pins and geographic key exclusivity to any ML2057 installation.

Keying options include master keying and construction master keying, with two nickel silver keys furnished standard.
