The Falcon 718C-R/V is the Delta cylinder pull trim for Falcon's 24 Series exit devices, compatible with both rim (24-R) and surface vertical rod (24-V) applications. Finish: US26D Satin Chrome. This is trim only- no exit device, no cylinder included. It mounts to your existing Falcon 24-R or 24-V to provide outside cylinder-controlled entry with a Delta pull on the exterior.
What "718C" Means: Decoding the Part Number
The Falcon 24 Series trim numbering follows a consistent pattern. The 718 is the Delta pull trim family- Delta refers to the distinctive triangular pull design used across Falcon's 24 and 25 Series. The "C" suffix means cylinder: outside key retracts the latchbolt. The "R/V" means the trim is compatible with both rim (R) and surface vertical rod (V) device configurations.
The 718C-R/V is the standard cylinder trim for keyed entry. The companion 718-NL (Night Latch) holds the latch retracted from outside without a key. The 717 is the blank escutcheon (no function) and the 710-DT is the dummy pull trim.
If your hardware schedule specifies "Falcon 24-R with 718C trim" or "Falcon 24-V with cylinder function," this is the trim you need.
What This Trim Does and Doesn't Do
The 718C-R/V provides keyed entry from the outside of the door. When a key is inserted and turned, the latchbolt retracts and the door opens. Inside egress is always free via the touchbar- the trim does not interfere with the exit device function in any way.
This trim does not include cylinder dogging capability. Cylinder dogging- where the cylinder holds the latchbolt in the retracted position for free push-pull operation- is a separate "CD" prefix option on the 24 Series device itself (specifying "CD" on the device order enables cylinder dogging via a 1-1/8" mortise cylinder). The 718C trim handles outside key retraction; dogging mode is set through the device.
Ordering: What Else You Need
Cylinder: Not included. The 718C-R/V for rim and surface vertical rod applications uses a standard rim cylinder (Falcon part number 951). For the concealed vertical rod version (718C for concealed), a 1-1/4" mortise cylinder is required instead. Order the rim cylinder in the keyway matching your key system.
Exit device: Not included. This trim is ordered separately from the 24-R or 24-V device. You can order the trim with the device or add it to an existing installation as a field retrofit.
Handing: The lever is reversible- supplied RHR (Right Hand Reverse) if handing is not specified. Left Hand Reverse (LHR) versions are also available.
