About this item
The Corbin Russwin L9/N9 lever trim is the lever-style outside trim assembly for the Corbin Russwin ED5200, ED5400, and ED5800 exit device platforms, configurable across 10 part numbers covering 5 ANSI functions in 2 lever style families. The naming convention is straightforward: "N" prefix is Newport lever style; "L" prefix is Lustra lever style; the three-digit suffix identifies function (955 classroom, 957 nightlatch, 959 storeroom, 910 passage, 950 dummy); "ET" indicates exit trim. Models available in order: N955ET, L955ET, N957ET, L957ET, N959ET, L959ET, N910ET, L910ET, N950ET, L950ET. Lever trim is handed (specify RHR or LHR). Uses a rim cylinder (sold separately, see Corbin Russwin Rim Cylinders for compatible options). ADA compliant for accessible commercial openings. SKU L955ET. Which Exit Device Does This Fit
The L9/N9 trim mounts on three Corbin Russwin ED5000 series exit device chassis: ED5200 rim exit device (single-door perimeter and high-traffic openings), ED5400 surface vertical rod (double-door applications without a center mullion), and ED5800 concealed vertical rod (double-door applications with concealed rods inside the door for clean aesthetics on glass and storefront installations). For mortise exit devices in the same ED5000 platform, see the matching Corbin Russwin N9M Mortise Trim which fits the ED5600 mortise chassis. The trim is not interchangeable across exit device platforms; verify the exit device model on your existing installation or specification before ordering.
Pick the Right Function: 955, 957, 959, 910, or 950
The three-digit suffix identifies which trim function matches your door's use case. 955 Classroom trim has a key-locked outside lever (lever locked from outside, key retracts latch and unlocks lever, push bar always allows free egress). Use for classrooms, offices, and any opening that needs keyed outside entry with always-free inside egress. 957 Nightlatch trim has a key-only outside operation (no lever; key retracts the latch when needed; push bar always allows free egress). Use for back-of-house, service entries, and any opening that needs key-only outside access with no lever appearance. 959 Storeroom trim has a fixed outside lever with key access (lever always rigid from outside, key retracts latch, push bar always allows free egress). Use for storerooms, supply closets, IT rooms, and any opening where outside entry should always require a key. 910 Passage trim has a free outside lever (no key, no locking, lever retracts latch from either side). Use for unlocked corridor and passage doors that need a code-compliant exit device for fire and life-safety. 950 Dummy trim is non-functional cosmetic trim for the inactive leaf of double doors that don't need outside operation. Use on the inactive leaf of pairs.
Newport vs Lustra Lever Style
The "N" and "L" prefixes select between Corbin Russwin's two lever style families. Newport (N) is the traditional curved lever profile with a slight wave, common in healthcare, education, and government specifications where the visual matches existing Corbin Russwin lever trim throughout the building. Lustra (L) is the contemporary straight lever profile with cleaner lines, common in newer commercial construction and corporate office specifications. Both lever styles meet the same ADA compliance requirements and use the same chassis hardware. The choice is purely visual.
