The Falcon 912L-BE is the entry lever trim for Falcon 900 Series exit devices: a lever on a blank escutcheon plate, key-controlled entry function, hand and field reversible.
"Blank escutcheon" means the escutcheon plate has no separate exposed cylinder hole on the face. The entry function is built into the lever assembly rather than through a conventional mortise cylinder exposed on the plate face. Key locks or unlocks the lever: when locked, the outside lever is rigid and doesn't operate the latch. When unlocked, the outside lever retracts the latch for entry. Inside, the panic push bar remains always free for egress regardless of the outside lever state. The 912 Series is the Falcon medium duty commercial trim line, corresponding to the Falcon 900 Series exit devices including the F19 Monarch and 1590 Rim series. 912L-BE vs. 912L with Cylinder
The difference between the 912L-BE and the standard 912L comes down to the escutcheon plate. The BE is blank: no cylinder opening punched in the face of the escutcheon. The standard 912L with cylinder options has a visible cylinder in the escutcheon plate. The blank version is specified when the access control method is electric (the exit device or strike is controlled electrically and the outside trim doesn't need a mechanical cylinder opening), when the cylinder is concealed within the assembly, or when the plate will be field-modified later. Confirm the exact access control method and device compatibility with the project specification before ordering.

912 Series vs. 712 Series: Medium Duty vs. Heavy Duty
The Falcon 700 Series trims (like the 712L-NL we just covered) are for Falcon 24/25 Series heavy-duty narrow stile exit devices. The Falcon 900 Series trims (like this 912L-BE) are for Falcon 900 Series medium duty exit devices including the Falcon F19 Monarch Series and 1590 Rim devices. These two trim families are not interchangeable. Confirm which Falcon exit device series is installed on the door before ordering trim, because a 912 trim won't fit a 24/25 Series device and a 712 trim won't fit a 900 Series device.
