About this item
Lever sag and internal mechanism wear are the two most common service calls on commercial cylindrical locks in high-traffic buildings. The Marks USA Survivor addresses both with a single design decision. When the outside lever is locked, it disengages completely from the retractor and the internal mechanism. The lever swings freely in its locked state, without resistance, without torque on the spindle, and without load on any internal component. The only way to apply force to the internal mechanism is to operate the lock correctly with a key or from inside. The result is a lever that never sags, an internal mechanism that doesn't wear from abuse on the locked lever, and a Grade 1 lock that Marks USA manufactured in Amityville, NY with a significantly longer service life than standard commercial lever sets.
The 195AB is the entry function in the Survivor Series: ANSI F109. For all Marks USA door hardware, browse our full commercial locks catalog.
How ANSI F109 Entry Function Works
The F109 entry function has two locking modes, both controlled by the inside push-and-turn button. Single push (turn button in, don't rotate): outside lever locks. A key from outside, or turning the inside lever, releases the outside lever and allows entry. This is the standard mode for after-hours lockdown. Push and turn (push button in, then rotate): outside lever locks in a second, more secure mode. A key from outside retracts the latch for entry, but it does NOT release the outside lever. The lever stays locked for the next approach. Only turning the inside lever releases the outside lever lock. This mode is specified when building management needs the door to remain secured between each key entry, rather than unlocking it for subsequent entries without another key turn.
Deadlocking latch is standard on the 195AB: the auxiliary bolt automatically deadlocks the main latch bolt when the door closes, preventing shimming or carding attacks.
