About this item
Some doors don't need outside entry control. Emergency exit stairwells, service corridors, and exterior secondary exits often require only that someone inside can push the exit device bar to leave, but outside re-entry is controlled by a separate keyed door or is not permitted at all. On those openings, a keyed trim set adds cost, cylinder management, and a mechanism that will never be used. The Sargent 710ET is the correct specification: a pull-only dummy lever trim with no cylinder, no outside mechanical operation, and no key. The lever is present only as a physical pull handle, typically used when the exit device is dogged (held open in the retracted position for free-flow traffic). When the door is in normal panic mode, the lever does not retract the latch. Inside push-bar egress remains the only way to operate the device.
The 700 Series ET trim is through-bolted to the chassis for greater security and durability than surface-mounted alternatives. For all commercial exit hardware, browse our full exit hardware catalog.
When to Specify Pull Only vs. Other 700 Series Trim Functions
The Sargent 700 Series ET trim family covers every outside access function from pull-only through keyed entry. Understanding which trim the opening requires prevents misorders and costly return shipping on handed trim sets.
The 710ET (this product) is for openings with no outside entry requirement. Lever is dummy, no cylinder, no outside operation. The 704ET is the night latch function: key from outside retracts the latch each time for entry. The 706ET and 713ET both provide keyed lever control (key locks and unlocks the outside lever) for different device series. The 715ET is the passage function: no cylinder, lever always operates freely from outside for unrestricted entry. The 740ET is the freewheeling pull-only version, where the lever turns under force rather than staying rigid, reducing stress on the trim mechanism in high-abuse applications.

Handing Note
The 710ET is a hand trim: it installs as either RHR (Right Hand Reverse) or LHR (Left Hand Reverse). RHR installs on doors where the hinges are on the right when approaching from the pull (outside) side. LHR installs where hinges are on the left. The exit device body is non-handed; the trim is handed. Ordering incorrect handing is the most common error on exit device trim orders and requires a return.
