Sargent 7G05 Entrance or Office Lock

The Sargent 7G05 is the Entrance/Office function (ANSI F109) within the Sargent 7 Line Grade 2 cylindrical lever lockset family. Deadlocking latch, dual-credential operation where the outside lever locks by push/turn button on the inside, push button released by either a key from outside or turning the lever from inside, turn button released manually. Key always retracts the latch when the outside lever is locked, so authorized key holders always get in. Meets and exceeds ANSI/BHMA A156.2 Series 4000 Grade 2 cycling standards. 7G05 Model Decode and Function (ANSI F109)

Sargent's 7 Line model naming packs function and configuration into a compact code:

• 7 = 7 Line Series (Grade 2 cylindrical lever)

• G = G Chassis

• 05 = Function code for Entrance/Office (ANSI F109)

F109 Entrance/Office is the classic office door function. In the unlocked state, the latch operates from either lever and anyone can come and go. To lock it, a staff member presses the push/turn button on the inside lever, which locks the outside lever. Anyone with a key can still retract the latch from outside, and the inside lever always retracts the latch for instant egress. To unlock fully (turn button), you either key it from the outside or turn the inside lever, which releases the button. This is the right function for private offices, suite entries, medical exam rooms, small office meeting rooms, small business entries, and any door where staff needs to lock up for the day but keep it accessible during hours. At checkout, you'll configure 7 options: lever style (LL, LB, or LP), cylinder (standard, 2860 LFIC less core, 2870 SFIC less core, or LC less cylinder), finish (26D, 10, 10B, or BSP in the primary checkout set), backset (2-3/4" or 2-3/8"), strike (ANSI 4-7/8" standard or T-strike 2-3/4"), keyway (LA standard plus 28 alternates), and keying (KD, KA, MK, or none). If you're retrofitting existing Sargent openings, match the keyway to the existing Sargent master key system (most commonly LA for standard commercial). If you're starting fresh on a new construction, LA is the default and works for almost all commercial applications. For facilities already running Best, Corbin Russwin, Schlage, or Medeco IC core systems, use the 2860 (LFIC) or 2870 (SFIC) options and order the IC core separately to match your existing system.
