Accentra (Yale) 5301LN Grade 2 Passage Lever Set

The Accentra 5301LN is a sturdy, commercial grade lever handle designed for interior doors where locking isn’t needed. It’s a Grade 2 cylindrical lock, making it a reliable choice for spaces that just need easy, unrestricted access.

 It uses ANSI Function F75: either lever operates the latchbolt at all times, there's no key, no push button, and no thumbturn. The door clicks shut and stays closed, but you can open it easily from either side using the handle. This setup is commonly used for interior spaces like hallways, corridors, conference rooms, stairwells, and utility rooms basically anywhere people need to pass through freely in both directions without restriction.

What Makes the 5300LN Series Different from Standard Grade 2 Hardware

The 5300LN carries features that competitors at this price point typically reserve for Grade 1 products. The Free Wheeling lever mechanism is patented: when a locking function is engaged (on other models in the series), the outside lever rotates freely without entry, which eliminates torque-based lever attacks. On this passage model, both levers remain fully operational. The chassis is heavy-gauge steel and cast components, plated against rust and corrosion. Throughbolting gives the unit a solid, rattle-free installation that holds up in high-traffic interior corridors.

ADA Compliance and Lever Options

All three available lever designs, Augusta (AU), Monroe (MO), and Pacific Beach (PB), are non-handed and comply with ADA requirements for easy gripping and operation without tight grasping or twisting. They also conform to ANSI/BHMA A156.115 for steel door and steel frame hardware preparations, and A156.115-W for wood doors with wood or steel frames. The 5300LN Series is designed and manufactured under an ISO 9001 certified quality system.

Certifications and Fire Rating

ANSI/BHMA A156.2, Series 4000, Grade 2 certified. UL and cUL Fire Label listed for all door functions up to 3 hours. That's the fire rating required on interior doors within fire-rated corridor assemblies, and this lock carries it at Grade 2.

Physical Specifications

Door thickness: 1-3/8" to 1-3/4" preassembled, preset at factory for 1-3/4". Special order available for 2" and 2-1/4" thick doors (specify on order). Backset: 2-3/4" standard. Optional 2-3/8", 3-3/4", and extensions up to 6".

Latchbolt: stainless steel, 1/2" throw. The auxiliary latchbolt is deadlocking, which prevents the latch from being manipulated with a card or shim when the door is closed, even on a passage function where no key control exists.

Front: wrought brass, bronze, or stainless steel, 2-1/4" by 1-1/8", universal design that fits both flat and beveled door fronts without modification. Strike: ANSI curved lip, 4-7/8" by 1-1/4" by 1-1/4" lip to center standard, with optional lip lengths and ANSI wrought strike box available.

Warranty and Sourcing

The 5300LN carries a 5-year warranty on the lockset. It also includes a separate lifetime warranty specifically against lever sag and lever spring breakage, which is the failure mode that makes most passage levers look and feel worn well before the rest of the hardware fails.
