About this item
The Accentra 8807FL is an ANSI F04 entry function mortise lever lock from the Accentra 8800 Series, previously manufactured and sold under the Yale brand. Accentra is the current brand name. If you're sourcing the Yale 8807, Yale 8807FL, or any 8800 Series mortise lock, Accentra (formerly Yale) is the correct manufacturer and this is the same product line. It's an ASSA ABLOY product. American Locksets is an authorized Accentra dealer.
ANSI F04 is the entry/office function: the latchbolt retracts by lever from either side, except when the outside lever is locked by the stopwork activator. When locked from outside, a key is required to retract the latch from the outside while the inside lever remains free at all times. The latchbolt is deadlocking.
Why the 8800 Series Is the Benchmark for Commercial Mortise Hardware
Most Grade 1 mortise locks are certified to ANSI/BHMA A156.13, Series 1000, Operational Grade 1 at 1 million cycles. The Accentra 8800 Series has completed UL cycle testing at 12.3 million cycles, Verification ID V572228. That's more than 12 times the Grade 1 standard cycle requirement. In institutions, hospitals, schools, and government facilities where entry doors cycle hundreds of times daily, this difference matters over a 20 to 30 year building service life.
The 8800FL with CN escutcheon trim also meets Security Grade 1, one classification level above Operational Grade 1, which is required on certain government and high-security specifications.
Function, Latchbolt, and Deadbolt Construction
The 8807FL carries both a latchbolt and a deadbolt in the same lockcase. The latchbolt is 3/4" throw, stainless steel, with a two-piece anti-friction camming action that reduces friction during normal door operation. The deadbolt is 1" throw, one-piece stainless steel, with two enclosed hardened steel roller armor pins that resist sawing or drilling attacks on the bolt.
The lockcase is wrought steel, zinc dichromated for corrosion resistance, measuring 5-1/16" x 4-1/8" x 1". The armor front is 8" x 1-1/4". Hubs are 3/8" solid steel, fine-blanked and heat treated for strength against lever abuse. The front plate is free-floating, adjusting from flat to the standard 1/8" in 2" bevel to accommodate door edge variations.
Physical Specifications and Door Compatibility
