Alarm Lock Trilogy ETDL: What It Does and How It Works

The ETDL Series retrofit exit trim converts any compatible panic exit device into a standalone keypad-controlled access point without wiring, without cutting into the door, and without replacing the panic hardware already installed. The outer trim mounts to the exit device, the inside panic bar continues to provide life-safety egress at all times, and the keypad on the outside lever controls entry from the unsecured side.

The clutch mechanism is the key engineering feature. The lever rotates freely without retracting the latch until a valid access code is entered. This protects the spindle and internal mechanism from stress caused by unauthorized lever-forcing attempts. When the correct code is entered, the clutch engages and the lever retracts the latchbolt for entry. The inside panic bar remains independent and always provides instant egress regardless of whether the exterior is locked.

Temperature range is -20 F to +150 F, making the ETDL suitable for both interior and exterior exit device installations.
