About this item
Most door locks let you key in from the outside. That's fine for a lot of commercial openings, but it doesn't work for a retail storefront where the manager needs to lock up from inside after the last customer leaves, then lock it again from outside once they've walked out. That's exactly the problem the storelock function solves. The Cal-Royal TBA02 is a Barrington Series Grade 2 storelock knob lock, ANSI Function F91, with a double cylinder design that lets you lock or unlock the door with a key from either side. Inside, outside, it doesn't matter. One key handles both. The Cal-Royal TBA02 is a Barrington Series Grade 2 storelock knob lock with ANSI Function F91, double cylinder operation, and a deadlocking latchbolt that's operated by knob from either side when unlocked.

How the ANSI F91 Storelock Function Works
ANSI Function F91 is the double cylinder storelock. When the lock is in the unlocked state, the deadlocking latchbolt is operated by either knob from either side. When a key is inserted and turned from either side, both knobs become inoperative simultaneously. The door cannot be opened by knob from either side until a key unlocks it from either side. This is the double cylinder design: key operation is available from both the outside cylinder and the inside cylinder, which means the building can be secured from inside or outside with equal key control.
This is meaningfully different from a standard storeroom function (F86), where the outside knob is always rigid and requires a key every time. The storelock is designed for openings that should be freely passable during business hours and fully key-locked from either side after hours. A retail manager closing the store can lock the door from inside after the last customer leaves, or from outside after exiting, using the same key.

Barrington Knob Design and Installation
The Barrington Series uses a traditional ball shape knob profile common in both residential and light commercial applications. The snap-on inside rose conceals the mounting plate and all visible screws, which gives the installed lock a cleaner finished appearance than exposed-fastener designs. Both knobs are secured by positive spring catch mechanisms, which means they can't be removed by pulling or rotating without the proper release tool. This prevents a common forced-entry technique where knobs are snapped off or rotated beyond the cylinder to gain access.
Keyway Options and Keying
The TBA02 ships with a 6-pin solid brass "C" keyway cylinder on both the inside and outside positions. Compatible keyways include Schlage E, Schlage C-K, Russwin D1-2-3-4, Corbin 59/60, Sargent LA-LB-LC, Falcon/Weiser E, Arrow A, Yale 8, Yale GA, and Kwikset. High security cylinder upgrades are available for Medeco, Assa, Kaba, and Cal-Royal HSK. Factory keying to a master key system is available when ordering in quantity. Both cylinders can be keyed alike or keyed differently depending on security requirements.
Where the TBA02 Gets Specified
Common applications include retail storefronts, restaurant entrances, office suite entry doors, apartment building common area doors, and any commercial opening where the operator needs key-controlled lockdown from either side of the door. For applications requiring Grade 1 security or a lever handle instead of a knob, the equivalent storelock function is available in the Cal-Royal Genesys Series Grade 1 cylindrical lever line and the NM Series mortise lock in function F07.
