About this item
The Corbin Russwin ML2030 LL is the privacy function lockbody from the ML2000 Series heavy-duty commercial mortise lock line, shipped as a body-only chassis for spec writers and locksmiths who already have their trim package or need to match an existing Corbin Russwin installation. Privacy function means the latch is operated by the lever from either side, with an inside turn-piece that locks the outside lever, and an emergency release on the outside that can be unlocked with a coin or standard tool. The LL suffix confirms compatibility with the L-series lever trim (sold separately). Armor fronts and strikes are included in the lockbody package, which is unusual for body-only purchases and eliminates the typical add-on cost. Six finish options cover most commercial aesthetic specs.
What Is the Corbin Russwin ML2030
The Corbin Russwin ML2000 Series is one of the oldest continuously-produced heavy-duty commercial mortise lock lines in the industry, now part of ASSA ABLOY (the parent company behind Yale, Sargent, Medeco, and Corbin Russwin itself). Mortise locks are the standard for commercial construction where doors see 5,000+ cycles per day: schools, hospitals, office towers, government buildings, hotels, and any institutional application where Grade 1 certification is required. Within the ML2000 Series, each model number maps to a specific ANSI function. ML2010 is Passage (no lock function, latch only). ML2020 is Entry (keyed outside, thumbturn inside). ML2030 is Privacy F19 (this product: bedroom/bathroom function, inside locks outside, emergency release). ML2051 is an Entrance office function. ML2057 is Classroom. ML2067 is Dormitory. Each function uses the same ML2000 Series chassis footprint, which is why the "body only" configuration exists: if you already have the trim from another ML2000 door, you can swap lockbodies to change function without re-drilling the door.

Why Buyers Order the ML2030 Body Only
Three scenarios drive body-only orders. First, function change-out: an existing Corbin Russwin ML2000 installation needs to convert a door from Entry to Privacy, or from Classroom to Privacy, and the facility already has matching trim from the original install. Ordering just the lockbody swaps the chassis while keeping the trim aesthetic consistent across the door schedule. Second, warranty replacement and wear repair: mortise lockbodies eventually wear out on high-cycle commercial doors, while trim (lever + escutcheon) can easily last decades. Replacing just the lockbody keeps the install looking identical and costs roughly a third of a full lock+trim assembly. Third, custom configurations: architects and spec writers sometimes combine ML2000 lockbodies with non-Corbin trim via custom adapter plates, specify IC core prep for a specific keying system, or pair the body with ML2010-compatible lever options from a different sub-series. In all three cases, the body-only SKU saves 40 to 60% versus ordering a full lock-and-trim assembly, which is why this configuration is priced at $414.15 instead of the $700+ range of the complete ML2030 with L-series trim included.
Configure Your ML2030-LL (Finish Selection)
Finish must be specified at order. 626 Satin Chrome (BHMA 626) is the default for 70% of commercial specs: neutral under fluorescent and LED lighting, pairs with most door hardware already in typical commercial settings, most common stainless steel appearance. 625 Bright Chrome (BHMA 625) is the polished version of 626, used for hospitality and upscale commercial environments. 613 Oil Rubbed Bronze (BHMA 613) is the dark bronze finish used for executive offices, hospitality design, and residential high-end conversions where a warmer darker tone is preferred. 612 Satin Bronze (BHMA 612) is a softer matte bronze that ages naturally over time. 606 Satin Brass (BHMA 606) is the muted brass option for traditional and older institutional aesthetics. 605 Bright Brass (BHMA 605) is the polished version of 606, less common in commercial but specified for hotels, historical renovations, and high-end residential conversions. If your project uses a mixed finish schedule (hall side one finish, room side another), note both requirements in order and we'll coordinate with Corbin Russwin directly.
