SAF vs. SEC: Choosing the Right Electrical Mode Before You Order

ML20906 SAF (Fail Safe): Power on = outside grip locked. Power off = outside grip free. The door unlocks automatically on a power failure. Correct specification for egress corridors, stairwells, and fire-rated openings where life safety codes require free exit when power drops.

ML20906 SEC (Fail Secure): Power off = outside grip locked. Power on = outside grip operates. The door stays locked through any power failure. Correct specification for pharmacies, server rooms, evidence rooms, tenant suites, and any opening where an outage must not grant access.

In both configurations the inside grip is always free. Egress is never compromised.

Monitor Options: M91 and M92
