About this item
The dormakaba E5031XSWL-626-41 is an E-Plex 5000 Series Grade 1 electronic pushbutton cylindrical lock with Winston lever, key-in-lever (KIL) cylinder, Schlage C keyway, 2-3/4" backset, and 626 Satin Chrome finish. It stores 100 access codes per door and 3,000 audit events, and operates entirely without wiring through or to the door.
The KIL designation in "XSWL" means this model ships with the key-in-lever cylinder already included. That distinguishes it from the IC-prepped variants (E5031BWL, E5031SWL, E5031CWL, etc.) which are sold less core and require a separate IC or SFIC installation. The E5031XSWL is the plug-and-play version: cylinder included, Schlage C keyway, two nickel silver keys, and four additional tailpieces packed in the box.
It's an ASSA ABLOY manufactured product under the dormakaba brand. American Locksets is an authorized dormakaba dealer.
How the E-Plex 5000 Works
The E5031XSWL uses dormakaba's LectroBolt technology, which eliminates all wiring to or through the door. Batteries are installed in the interior housing cover, accessible without removing the lock. No wires, no conduit, no pinched wire callbacks. The lock auto-locks after every use based on the programmed re-lock time (adjustable from 2 to 20 seconds).
Programming is done directly from the keypad using the LearnLok feature, no software or PC required. For facilities managing multiple doors, optional E-Plex Standard or Enterprise software manages codes, schedules, and audit events from a laptop via the M-Unit infrared adapter (sold separately as EP-MU-COM-001, also available on this site).
Access Codes, Audit Trail, and Authority Levels
The E5031XSWL-626-41 supports 100 access codes per door, with PIN lengths adjustable from 4 to 8 digits. The 3,000-event audit trail records all access activity including mechanical key override use. Audit data is non-volatile.
Five authority levels divide user privileges: Master Level handles all setup and programming; Manager Level runs common administrative functions; Access User Level provides standard entry with valid PIN; Service Level allows single-event or single-day access programmable in advance; Maintenance Level allows data upload/download without granting door access.
Anti-tamper lockout is adjustable from 3 to 9 invalid attempts before triggering a lockout period of 0 to 90 seconds. Up to 16 access schedules and 32 holiday/vacation blocks can be programmed per lock.
Passage mode can be toggled on or off, or pre-programmed to automatically re-lock after 1 to 24 hours — useful for open-office hours, break rooms, or controlled time-access applications.

E5031XSWL vs Other E5031 Variants
