About this item
The Dormakaba QTL200 Series is the tubular lever lock line in the Dormakaba commercial hardware catalog. "Tubular" refers to the tubular latch mechanism inside the lock body: a more compact, lighter-weight latch design that delivers Grade 2 performance at a lower price point than the cylindrical QCL200 Series. The QTL230-E is the passage function in that series: ANSI F75, both levers always free, always unlocked, for immediate ingress and egress from either side with no key, no button, and no locking function of any kind.
The "E" suffix is the Sierra lever style. The "626" is Satin Chrome. The "230" is the function code within the QTL200 family. All three pieces of information are in the SKU: QTL230E626. For doors where keyless passage is all that's needed, closets, service corridors, interior offices on unsecured floors, and hallway doors within suites, the QTL230 delivers Grade 2 commercial lever performance at a value price point without paying for a locking mechanism the opening doesn't need. Anti-Lockout Feature
The QTL230-E includes an anti-lockout mechanism. Some tubular locks in the passage function family have an interior button that can be accidentally engaged, leaving the door locked from inside even though the passage function is supposed to have no lock. The anti-lockout feature prevents a locked-in situation: if the inside button is accidentally pressed, the inside lever or button can immediately disengage it without tools or a key. The door stays reliably passable in both directions without the risk of accidental interior lockout.

QTL200 Series Passage vs. Other Functions
The QTL230 (this product) has no locking function. Both levers are always free. If the opening needs outside lever control, the QTL250 is the Entry/Office function (two-mode push-button, key from outside). The QTL260 is Classroom (outside lever locked from corridor by key). The QTL270 is Storeroom (outside lever always locked, key entry each time). All functions use the same Sierra lever and 626 Satin Chrome finish option for visual consistency across a facility's door schedule.
QTL230 vs. QCL230: Tubular vs. Cylindrical
The QTL230 and QCL230 are both Grade 2 passage locks with Sierra lever and Satin Chrome finish. The QTL230 uses a tubular latch mechanism and is priced for light commercial and standard duty applications. The QCL230 uses a standard cylindrical mechanism at a slightly higher price point with heavier-duty internal components. For most light commercial interior passage applications, the QTL230 delivers the specification at a better price. For heavy-use corridors or exterior locations, the QCL or QCL100 Series Grade 1 options are the correct upgrade path.
