Falcon 24/25 RX KIT (650359), 24/25 Series RX Switch Kit

The Falcon 650359 RX Kit adds that signal. RX stands for Request to Exit. The switch inside the kit monitors the pushpad: when the push bar is depressed, the switch sends a signal to the access control panel that an authorized egress is occurring. The panel shunts the alarm, logs the exit event, and resets. The door opens, closes, and the system records the exit without triggering a false alarm.

This kit is the field-installation version. Falcon 24 and 25 Series devices can be ordered from the factory with the RX option already installed. If the device was ordered without it, the 650359 kit retrofits the RX switch onto an existing installed device without replacing the exit device. Finish must be specified at time of order: the kit is available in US3, US4, US10, 313AN, US26, US26D, US28, US32, and US32D. RX vs. LX: What Each Switch Does

Two switch options are available for the Falcon 24/25 Series. The RX switch (this product) monitors push bar movement: when the bar is pressed for egress, the switch changes state and signals the access control panel. The LX switch monitors the latch bolt: it signals the panel when the latch is extended (door closed and latched) vs. retracted (door ajar or held open). RX is for access control egress monitoring and alarm shunting. LX is for door position and latch monitoring. They serve different functions and can be used simultaneously in the same device.

Wiring

The 650359 RX switch is a SPDT (Single Pole Double Throw) Form C dry contact. No dedicated power supply is required. Wiring connections: Violet is Normally Open. Black is Common. Gray is Normally Closed. For most access control panel REX inputs, connect Violet (NO) and Black (Common) for a normally-open REX signal that closes when the push bar is activated. Confirm with the access control panel documentation before wiring.

AE Option vs. RX Switch: Same Feature, Different Name

Older Falcon 24/25 Series specifications and hardware schedules may reference the "AE option" for request-to-exit monitoring. Allegion (parent company of Falcon) renamed this feature from AE to RX to align with the naming conventions used across their other exit device brands including Von Duprin and Sargent. If a hardware schedule calls for Falcon 24/25 with AE option, the 650359 RX kit is the current correct accessory. If a technician asks for the "AE kit" for a Falcon 24/25 Series device, 650359 is the part to order.
