About this item
The Schlage 30-137 converts or installs an L Series mortise lock with Full Size Interchangeable Core (FSIC) capability. The core drops in and out using a control key in seconds without removing the lock from the door, without tools, and without calling a locksmith. For facilities managing dozens or hundreds of L Series mortise locks on a master key program, that core change capability is the operational difference between a re-keying event that takes hours and one that takes minutes.
The 30-137 is the housing for A-type sectional rose trim applications. The Schlage L Cam (part number L583-255) is included. The Full Size IC core is sold separately and is not included with this housing. For compatible IC cores, cylinders, and keying products, browse our cylinders, cores, and keys catalog.

Compatibility: Which Locks This Housing Fits
The 30-137 is compatible with all Schlage L Series mortise lock functions with A-type sectional rose trim configuration, and with the Schlage PM Series mortise locks in the same trim configuration. There are two documented exceptions: the L9060 outside functions and the L9485/L9486 hotel function locks.
If your L Series locks use L or N escutcheon trim rather than A rose trim, the correct LFIC housing is the Schlage 30-007, not the 30-137. The trim configuration determines which housing you need, not the lock function code.
FSIC vs. SFIC: Understanding the Core Format
Full Size Interchangeable Core (FSIC) and Large Format Interchangeable Core (LFIC) refer to the same Schlage core format. The 30-137 accepts the Schlage Full Size IC, including the standard Schlage 23-030 core and compatible 6 and 7 pin FSIC variants. This is a larger format core than the BEST/Falcon SFIC (Small Format Interchangeable Core) used in locks with SFIC prep. They are not interchangeable. If your facility runs a BEST or Falcon SFIC master key system, the 30-137 is not the correct housing. For SFIC applications in the L Series, the Schlage 80-101 or 80-108 housing is required.
Converting from Conventional to LFIC
Existing Schlage L Series locks with conventional cylinder housings can be converted to LFIC operation by replacing the conventional housing with the 30-137. The lock body stays in the door. The existing cylinder is removed and the 30-137 housing installed in its place, accepting FSIC cores going forward. This conversion makes the lock compatible with the facility's LFIC master key program, construction keying protocol, and ongoing re-keying schedule without any lock body replacement.
