About this item
Timely and Redi frames have a specific ANSI cutout that most electric strikes don't fit cleanly without extensive frame modification. Installers who've put a standard electric strike into a Timely or Redi frame know the problem: the faceplate doesn't bridge the cutout properly, the frame gets overcut, or the strike body doesn't seat correctly in the opening. The Trine 323478FX-LC solves all of that. It's a fire-rated Grade 1 electric strike built specifically for Timely, Redi, Raco, and IDP frames, requiring up to 60% less frame cutting on the 478 faceplate and up to 80% less cutting on the 234 faceplate compared to installing a standard electric strike in the same frame.
This is also the smallest electric strike that fits both Timely and Redi frame ANSI cutouts. The FX designation means the kit includes the 478X-375 faceplate specifically dimensioned for Timely frame geometry, instead of the standard 478 faceplate. What's in the 323478FX-LC Kit
The kit ships with everything needed for the installation. One 234-26D faceplate (2-3/4" standard). One 234X-375-26D faceplate (2-3/4" with extended ramp, for Timely frame geometry). One 478X-375 faceplate in 32D Satin Stainless for Timely, Redi, Raco, and IDP frames. One 30LC Fire Rated mechanism (11 to 29 VAC/DC). One 478-32D faceplate (4-7/8" standard). One 478-CCFP Competitor Filler Plate for installations converting from a competing strike. The included faceplate variety lets the installer select the correct configuration on site without a return trip for parts.

Fail Secure and Fire Rating: Critical Configuration Note
The 323478FX-LC fire rating is listed and valid only in the fail-secure (FS) configuration. Fail secure means the strike is locked when de-energized: power off equals door locked. When power is applied by the access control panel, the strike releases and allows entry.
The fire listing is void when using fail-safe (RS or FA) action. Fail-safe configuration (door unlocked when power fails) is not compatible with this fire listing. If your project requires a fail-safe electric strike on a fire-rated opening, a different product is required. Confirm with your AHJ which fail mode is required for the specific opening before specifying.
The Cutting Reduction Advantage
Standard electric strikes require significant frame cutting to seat properly in the opening. On older frames like Timely and Redi installations, excessive cutting weakens the frame and creates gaps that affect both security and weather sealing. The 323478FX-LC's faceplate engineering reduces the cutting footprint dramatically: up to 60% less for the 478 faceplate and up to 80% less for the 234 faceplate. Less cutting means faster installation, less frame damage, and a cleaner final appearance.
