About this item
The Dormakaba KA1410 is the construction zone card: a single RFID MIFARE credential that provides global access to all Dormakaba Nova-D, Saffire, and RT locksets configured in construction mode.
When the lock system is set to construction mode, any KA1410 card activates any door in that system. When the project is complete and the facility is ready for occupancy, the system is taken out of construction mode and all KA1410 construction zone cards are deactivated automatically. Building management then issues regular user credentials to occupants and staff. The KA1410 is a consumable construction phase accessory. What MIFARE RFID Means
MIFARE is the contactless smart card standard developed by NXP Semiconductors operating at 13.56 MHz radio frequency. It's the dominant contactless card technology in access control and hotel key card applications globally. At 13.56 MHz, MIFARE cards transmit and receive data at close range when held near a compatible reader, typically within 2-4 inches. MIFARE cards are significantly more secure than the older 125 kHz proximity card technology because the data exchange uses encryption and the shorter read range reduces the risk of unauthorized card reads at distance.
The KA1410 uses the MIFARE standard and is compatible with the 13.56 MHz RFID readers in the Dormakaba Saffire Series, Nova-D Series, and RT Series locksets. It will not work with 125 kHz proximity readers or with RFID lock systems from other manufacturers that use a different card format or frequency.
Dormakaba KA1410 Specifications
SKU: KA1410. Also known as: Dormakaba KA1410, Kaba KA1410, Dormakaba MIFARE construction card. Product type: RFID contactless card credential. Technology: MIFARE (13.56 MHz).This is a construction zone credential, which means it's not a regular access card. It's a temporary card designed for one specific phase of the project: the period before the building is occupied, when contractors need to move freely between rooms without individual programming for each door. Present the KA1410 to any reader in the system while it's in construction mode, and the door opens. It works on Nova-D, Saffire, and RT locksets running that mode. Unit price: Per card.
Construction Zone Card vs. Standard User Card
The KA1410 Construction Zone card is not a regular user credential. It's a temporary credential for the construction phase only. It provides access to every door in the system simultaneously, which is why it's appropriate for contractors but not for building occupants.
Standard Dormakaba user cards (issued through the Saffire or RT system's programming sequence) provide access only to the specific doors programmed for each individual card. If a building manager needs to add a specific contractor for a limited number of doors after the building is occupied, a standard user credential is the correct approach, not a Construction Zone card.
