About this item
The Dormakaba P2066BLL is the PowerPlex PowerStar version of the E-Plex mortise keypad lock: the same Grade 1 mortise body with the same 100-code keypad, the same SFIC prep for BEST-compatible 6 or 7 pin IC cores, but powered by the PowerStar self-generating mechanism instead of batteries.
Specifically, this is the no-deadbolt configuration (P2066). The P2067BLL is the same PowerStar mortise lock with a deadbolt added. On doors that already have a separate keyed or electronic deadbolt providing bolt security, the P2066 handles electronic latch control from outside via PIN code without adding a redundant bolt mechanism. On doors where the mortise lock is the only hardware and bolt security is needed, specify the P2067 instead. For all Dormakaba electronic access control hardware, browse our keypad and prox locks. For all commercial mortise locks, view our mortise locks catalog.
PowerStar on a Mortise: Why the Combination Matters
Mortise doors in commercial buildings are often the main entrance: high traffic, multiple daily access events, and significant foot traffic each time the outside lever is activated. Battery-powered electronic locks on high-traffic mortise doors drain faster than the product spec predicts because the spec assumes average use. A main building entrance sees far above-average use, compressing the battery replacement cycle.
The PowerStar mechanism changes this relationship: more use generates more power. The internal generator charges the capacitor with every lever turn. A busier door means more energy harvested, not faster depletion. The P2066BLL is the correct specification when electronic keypad access control is needed on a high-traffic mortise prep and zero battery management is a facility requirement.

How the P2066BLL Compares to Three Similar Products
P2066BLL (this product) vs. E2066BLL: Same mortise body, same SFIC prep, same codes. P2066BLL uses PowerStar (no batteries). E2066BLL uses 3 AA batteries. Choose P2066BLL when battery maintenance is unacceptable; choose E2066BLL when budget is the primary constraint.
P2066BLL vs. P2067BLL: Both use PowerStar no-battery mechanism and SFIC prep. P2066BLL has no deadbolt. P2067BLL adds a deadbolt for doors requiring bolt security from the same lock body. Choose P2066BLL when a separate deadbolt exists or latch control alone is sufficient; choose P2067BLL when the mortise lock must provide both latch and bolt security.
P2066BLL vs. P2031BLL: Both PowerStar, both SFIC, both no batteries. P2066BLL has a mortise body (rectangular door pocket). P2031BLL has a cylindrical body (cross-bore prep). Choose based entirely on the door preparation that exists or is specified.
