Dormakaba Power Plex 2000 Series

Displaying (of 12 products)

The dormakaba PowerPlex 2000 Series is the self-powered electronic keypad lockset from dormakaba, formerly marketed as the Kaba PowerPlex and the Kaba E-Plex 2000. These are standalone battery-free access control locks that generate their own power through a patented PowerStar technology mechanism, requiring no wiring, no batteries, and no external power source of any kind. Every PowerPlex 2000 in this category is a Grade 1 certified commercial keypad lock available in cylindrical, mortise, and exit trim configurations.

If you've been searching for "powerplex 2000," "kaba powerplex 2000," "dormakaba powerplex 2000," "kaba powerplex," "powerplex lock," or "power plex," this is the correct category at American Locksets, trusted since 2001.

How the dormakaba PowerPlex 2000 Generates Its Own Power

The PowerPlex 2000 uses dormakaba's patented PowerStar technology. Every time the lever is turned, the mechanism generates and stores electrical energy in built-in super capacitors. There is no lever pumping required to wake the lock up. Pressing the first digit of a valid code activates the lock, the remaining digits are entered, and the lever retracts the latch bolt. The super capacitors hold a full charge for up to 10 weeks with zero activity at the lock.

This means the PowerPlex 2000 is genuinely maintenance-free from a power standpoint. There are no batteries to replace, no wiring running through the door or the frame, and no power supply to install or maintain. On remote locations, rarely visited access points, and facilities where running conduit through a door frame isn't practical, the PowerPlex 2000 solves a problem that every other access-controlled lock creates.

PowerPlex 2000 Models at American Locksets

P2031 Series: Cylindrical Lock

The P2031 is the cylindrical format PowerPlex 2000, installed in a standard cylindrical door prep. Backset is 2-3/4" standard, with 2-3/8" backset also available. Latch throw is 1/2". The cylindrical latch carries a 3-hour UL/ULC fire rating. Door thickness range is 1-3/8" to 1-3/4". All P2031 models are non-handed, pre-assembled for left-hand installation, and field reversible for right-hand without tools.

Three cylinder/core variants are available:

The P2031LL is the base model with no key override. The P2031XSLL includes a key-in-lever (KIL) cylinder in Schlage C keyway as the mechanical backup. The P2031BLL is the SFIC prep version, shipped less core, accepting 6/7-pin small format interchangeable cores from BEST and equivalent manufacturers for facilities running an IC masterkey system.

Both satin chrome (626) and satin brass (606) finishes are available across the P2031 line.

P2066 and P2067 Series: Mortise Lock

The P2066BLL is the PowerPlex 2000 mortise lock without deadbolt, in 6/7-pin SFIC prep, less core. The P2067BLL is the same mortise configuration with deadbolt. The mortise format uses the American Standard mortise prep with a 1-1/4" face plate and is available with auto deadbolt. Backset is 2-3/4". Mortise lock models are specified on doors where a full mortise body is already in place or where the higher security profile of a mortise case is required.

P201U Series: Exit Trim

The P201UXSLL and P201UBLL are the PowerPlex exit trim models, designed to mount on the pull side of a door fitted with a rim, mortise, or surface vertical rod exit device. The exit trim is compatible with most leading brands of exit devices. The exit device and mounting hardware are not included and must be ordered separately. The P201UXSLL uses Schlage C keyway for mechanical key override; the P201UBLL is 6/7-pin SFIC prep, less core.

User Codes, Authority Levels, and Programming

The PowerPlex 2000 supports up to 100 user codes. Code length is adjustable to accept 4 to 8 digits. All programming is done through the keypad using the master programming sequence, without removing the lock from the door. Optional Microsoft Excel-based software is available for facilities managing multiple locks and larger user populations.

Five authority levels structure who can do what at the lock. The Master Level performs all setup and programming functions. The Manager Level handles common programming tasks. The Access User Level grants entry on a valid PIN. The Service Level provides single-event or single-day access codes, programmable in advance without the recipient being present at the lock. The Maintenance Level allows data upload and download without granting physical access.

Anti-tamper lockout is adjustable from 3 to 9 invalid attempts, with a lockout period adjustable from 0 to 90 seconds. Relock time is adjustable from 2 to 20 seconds after access is granted.

Audit Trail and 1,000 Event Memory

The PowerPlex 2000 records the most recent 1,000 lock events in internal memory, including all use of the mechanical key override. Software is required to view the audit trail. For facilities that need to verify who accessed a door and when, without investing in a networked access control system, the 1,000-event internal audit trail provides accountability without infrastructure cost.
