About this item
The Falcon C607-A-606 is a Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) from Falcon, an Allegion brand, with a 7-pin housing, 6-pin A keyway, satin brass 606 finish, and 0-bit combinated with two blank keys included. The C607 is the standard Falcon SFIC core used across Falcon lever locks, cylindrical locksets, mortise cylinders, rim cylinders, and exit device trim wherever the housing is prepped for a small format interchangeable core.
What Is an SFIC Core and Why It Matters
A Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) is a removable plug that uses a two-key control system: an operating key for day-to-day access and a control key that removes and installs the core itself. The control key releases the core from the housing without any tools, allowing non-locksmith building maintenance staff to rekey a door in seconds. There is no disassembling of the lockset, no calling a locksmith, and no downtime on the opening.
The Falcon C607 SFIC core is combinated, meaning it ships ready to install with the operating key bitting already cut to the specification on the order. When the model number shows 0 Bit, the core ships with a zero-bitted cylinder that must be combinated before installation or is intended for facilities that will set their own bitting through their key control program.
SFIC Cross-Compatibility: Falcon, Best, and Arrow
The Falcon C607 SFIC core is compatible with the SFIC housing format used by Best and Arrow. Falcon locks accept Best and Arrow SFIC cores, and Best and Arrow locks accept Falcon cores. This cross-compatibility is the main practical advantage of SFIC over conventional cylinders on large commercial projects: a facility already running a Best or Arrow SFIC masterkey system can order Falcon C607 cores combinated into the existing Best or Arrow bitting list. Facilities managers do not need to run a separate Falcon key system alongside an existing IC system.
Falcon's A keyway is standard for all IC products and is equivalent to the Best and Arrow IC A keyway. A keyway is the default unless another restricted keyway is specified on the order. Falcon master keying uses the A2 depth system (depths 0 through 9) as the standard. A4 system (depths 0 through 5) is available on request through Falcon's Key Systems Department.

Finish Options
The C607 core is available in two standard finishes: 606 Satin Brass and 626 Satin Chrome. The 606 satin brass finish coordinates with brass lever and trim hardware. The 626 satin chrome is the most commonly specified finish for standard commercial interiors in satin chrome or stainless steel hardware schedules.
