About this item
The KSP 207-A-26D-KA is a Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) in the 7-pin configuration with the A keyway, finished in 26D Satin Chrome, and supplied Keyed Alike. All brass body construction - plug, sleeve, and body assembly - with a stainless steel snap ring. Made in the USA.
This core is compatible with BEST, Arrow, and Falcon locks that use A keyway SFIC housings. It drops into any BEST-compatible Small Format Interchangeable Core housing using the operating key for installation and the control key for removal. For all IC cores and SFIC housings, browse our cylinders, cores, and keys catalog. For BEST IC core options, view our BEST IC core catalog.
Keyed Alike (KA): What It Means When Ordering
The KA designation means every core in the order operates from the same key. This is used when multiple doors need to be keyed identically: a group of office suite doors all keyed to the same user key, storage rooms on a floor where all staff share one key, or a replacement order where new cores need to match an existing key.
Three keying options are available in the KSP 207 series. KA (Keyed Alike) means all cores in the order share one key. KD (Keyed Different) means each core gets its own unique key. Uncombinated means the core ships with no key cuts and must be pinned by a locksmith or key control department to the system biting.
7-Pin vs. 6-Pin SFIC: Choosing the Right Core
The KSP 206 is the 6-pin version of the same core. The KSP 207 (this product) is the 7-pin version. Both use the A keyway and are BEST-compatible SFIC format. The pin count determines the number of possible key combinations available in the system.
6-pin cores provide sufficient key differentiation for most small-to-medium master key systems. 7-pin cores add a seventh pin chamber that increases the possible key combination count significantly, which matters on large master key systems across universities, hospitals, and institutional campuses where hundreds of individually keyed openings must maintain separation across multiple master key levels. If the facility runs a 7-pin system, all cores must be 7-pin. Mixing 6-pin and 7-pin cores in an SFIC system creates key compatibility problems at mixed openings.
KSP vs. BEST vs. Cal-Royal: How KSP Cores Position
Three SFIC core brands appear in the related products on this page.
The Stanley/BEST 1C7 is the original BEST 7-pin SFIC core from the brand that invented the SFIC format. Premium brand, premium price.
The Cal-Royal 7PUC is a budget BEST-compatible 7-pin SFIC core at a lower cost. Compatible performance, lower cost.
The KSP 207 (this product) is a Made-in-USA 7-pin SFIC core positioned between the two. All-brass body construction, A keyway, BEST compatibility, domestic manufacturing. For facilities and contractors who need A-keyway 7-pin SFIC cores with Made-in-USA sourcing, the KSP 207 is the specification.
