Sargent C10-1 Standard Cylinder For Sargent 10, 7, 6500 & 7500 Lever line

The Sargent C10-1 is the standard 6-pin key-in-lever cylinder for Sargent's 10 Line, 7 Line, 6500 Series, and 7500 Series cylindrical lever locksets brass or bronze construction, LA keyway standard, 19 Sargent keyways available, 2 nickel silver keys included, keyed different standard, ANSI/BHMA A156.5 Grade 1 certified, and Buy American Act qualified. American Locksets stock the C10-1 in both satin brass (US4) and satin nickel (US15) finishes. 

What the C10-1 Is and What It Fits

The C10-1 is Sargent's standard cylindrical lever cylinder, the key-in-lever mechanism that drops into the outside lever of a Sargent cylindrical lockset and controls outside access for every keyed function. Part number 13-3266 on older Sargent documentation refers to the same cylinder.

It fits the Sargent 10 Line, 7 Line, 6500 Line, and 7500 Line cylindrical locksets across all keyed functions. The one exception is the hotel or hospital guest room function (function 50) that uses a dedicated hotel cylinder and the C10-1 does not apply. For every other keyed function across all four lock lines, the C10-1 is the correct cylinder.

If you're replacing a cylinder in an existing Sargent 10 Line or 7 Line door handle installation, confirming the keyway your building is currently using is the only step required before ordering. The C10-1 is available in 19 standard Sargent keyways from stock.

Sargent 7 Line and 6500 Cylinder: Why It's the Same Part

A common confusion in specifying Sargent cylinders is whether the 7 Line and 6500 Series use a different cylinder than the 10 Line. They don't. The C10-1 is the single standard cylinder shared across all four lever lines. The "C10-1" designation reflects the cylinder format, not that it's exclusive to the 10 Line. Sargent 6500 Series lever locks and Sargent 7 Line lever locks both accept the C10-1 directly. If a supplier or maintenance spec lists a different cylinder for these lines, verify against the Sargent catalog before ordering.

The C10-1 is available in three keyway families covering 19 standard options, all from stock:

L System keyways: LA (standard), LB, LC, LE, LF, LG, LJ, LK, LL

H System keyways: HA, HB, HC, HE, HF, HG, HJ, HK, HL

R System keyways: RA, RB, RC, RE, RF, RG, RJ, RK, RL

S and SC keyways are also available.

LA is the standard keyway shipped when no keyway is specified. If your building is on a specific Sargent keyway system, specify the keyway suffix when ordering for example, C10-1-LG-US15-KD for an LG keyway cylinder in satin nickel, keyed differently.
