About this item
The SDC EntryCheck 923 is a standalone digital keypad that controls access at a single door for up to 500 users, in a narrow vandal-resistant housing built for tough indoor or outdoor openings. A standalone keypad replaces keys with PIN codes: a user enters a 4 to 6 digit code, and the keypad releases the electric lock through its onboard relay, no separate controller or wiring to a head-end system required. What sets the 923 apart from a basic entry keypad is how much it packs into a narrow 2 inch wide body, heavy cast metal construction, dual relays plus solid-state outputs, and security features like anti-passback and tamper lockout that you usually only find on far more expensive systems.
What the 923 does and where it fits
The 923 manages access for one entry point entirely on its own. You assign each of up to 500 users a PIN, and a valid code energizes one or both output relays to release the door, then the lock relocks automatically when the door closes. Because the housing is only 1-3/4 inches wide, the 923 mounts on narrow surfaces a standard keypad won't fit: door mullions, narrow-stile aluminum frames, and tight jambs, as well as standard surface or single-gang locations. The heavy cast vandal-resistant housing and weather resistance make it suitable for exterior gates, parking entries, and high-abuse doors where a plastic keypad wouldn't last.
Security and control features
This is where the 923 earns its place. It carries four outputs, two relays and two solid-state outputs, each timed or latching, and you can assign entry PINs to either relay, so one keypad can control two functions (for example a door and a gate, or a lock and an alarm shunt). For real access security it adds timed anti-passback and anti-tailgate (preventing a code from being reused to pass a second person through), keypad tamper lockout (locking out after repeated wrong codes), and a built-in tamper switch. It also monitors the door: request-to-exit/enter input, forced-entry and door-ajar detection, and relay-inhibit options. Dual LED status indicators show access and lockout states, the blue backlit metal keys are readable in the dark, and the audible feedback volume and key illumination are adjustable.

Why choose the SDC EntryCheck 923
SDC (Security Door Controls) builds professional access control and locking hardware, and the 923 is a lot of keypad for a single-door application. The narrow cast housing solves a real problem, fitting a rugged keypad onto a mullion or narrow-stile door where most keypads are too wide, and the dual relays, anti-passback, and tamper features give you genuine access security without stepping up to a networked system. For a gate, a perimeter door, an aluminum storefront, or any standalone opening that needs keyless control in a tough spot, the 923 is built to last and do more than a basic keypad.
One thing to confirm before ordering: the 923 is the narrow version (1-3/4 inch wide), ideal for mullions and narrow stiles. If you have a standard-width mounting location, SDC also makes the wider EntryCheck 920 and the indoor 918U in the same family.
