How the HIL30 Single Locking Function Works

The HILRL30 uses the HIL30 single locking, entrance passage lever function. From the outside, the deadbolt is thrown or retracted by key in the upper lock, or by the inside turn unit. The latch bolt retracts by lever from either side. From the inside, a single turn of the lever retracts both the deadbolt and the latch bolt simultaneously for immediate exit. No need to disengage the deadbolt separately. That's the panic-proof exit design that makes interconnected locks the preferred choice for hotel corridors, dormitories, and occupied commercial suites.

The HILRL30 ships with a solid brass 6-pin "C" keyway cylinder. It's compatible with Schlage E, Schlage C-K, Russwin D1-2-3-4, Corbin 59/60, Sargent LA-LB-LC, Falcon/Weiser E, Arrow A, Yale 8, Yale GA, and Kwikset keyways. High security cylinder options include Medeco, Assa, Kaba, and Cal-Royal HSK. Small Format Interchangeable Core (SFIC) is available, accepting compatible 6 or 7 pin cores with BEST, FALCON, and ARROW.

The lever is key-removable, which means quick re-keying or cylinder replacement without pulling the full lock body. Each lever also has a unique individual spring on both the exterior and interior sides, which prevents lever sag over time. That's a small engineering detail that most facility managers only notice when it's missing.
