Design Hardware DH-1000R-33 Heavy Duty Rim Exit Device, With Hex Key Dogging

The DH-1000R-33 is the 33" bar configuration for standard 3'-0" doors, non-handed, completely field reversible, ANSI A156.3 Grade 1 certified, UL Listed for panic exit hardware, and ADA compliant with lever trim. The extruded anodized aluminum pushbar channel runs the full device length on a steel chassis, with a deadlocking latchbolt that automatically deadlocks when the door closes to prevent shimming. The hex key dog is standard: a 5/32" hex key depresses the pushbar and latches it in the open position for free-traffic periods, held there until the hex key releases it.

DH-1000R vs. F1000R: Panic vs. Fire-Rated

The DH-1000R (this product) is the standard panic exit device. It's the correct specification for non-fire-rated doors and for fire-rated doors where the specific installation conditions permit a listed panic device without the fire exit hardware designation. Hex key dogging is included and functional.

The F1000R is the fire-rated version of the same device. It ships with through-bolts as standard and hex key dogging is not permitted (fire-rated exit hardware cannot be dogged in the held-open position). For any opening on a fire-labeled door that requires fire exit hardware listing, specify the F1000R, not the DH-1000R. Verify the fire door listing requirement with the AHJ before ordering.

Electrification Options

The DH-1000R-33 supports four electrification options that can be specified at time of order or added to existing installed devices. ELR (Electric Latch Retraction) uses a motorized mechanism to retract the latch bolt on the access control signal, allowing outside entry without a cylinder or mechanical lever. ED (Electric Dogging) replaces the hex key dog with an electrical solenoid that dogs the pushbar on command from an access control panel or time clock. REX (Request to Exit) provides a switch signal when the pushbar is operated from inside, allowing the access control system to log or shunt an alarm on egress.
