TS93 Series: Cam Action Surface Closer

The TS93 is Dormakaba's flagship surface-mounted door closer and the product most people mean when they search for a dormakaba or Dorma closer. It uses a cam and roller mechanism instead of the rack and pinion mechanism found in most competing closers. The difference is tangible at the door: the cam action requires less force to start opening the door, then builds controlled resistance through the swing. Two independent temperature-compensating hydraulic valves control sweep speed and latch speed separately. Adjustable backcheck activates at approximately 65 degrees to protect the door from impact damage.

The TS9315 covers sizes 1 through 5 for standard commercial doors. The TS9356 covers sizes 5 through 6 for heavy exterior doors and high-wind applications. Both are ANSI/BHMA A156.4 Grade 1, UL and CUL listed, and non-handed. Compatible with G-EMR and G-EMF electromechanical hold-open slide channel assemblies for doors that need to hold open during normal operations and release on fire alarm signal.

GSR Series: TS93 with Integrated Coordinator for Paired Doors

The GSR combines twin TS93 closers with an integrated coordinator in the track unit for pairs of doors equipped with astragals or exit devices. The coordinator handles proper sequential closing - inactive leaf before active leaf - which is required on paired fire doors and on paired exit device doors where the active leaf latch must clear the inactive leaf. The GSR replaces what would otherwise be a separate closer and coordinator on each leaf, reducing hardware count and simplifying installation.

BTS Series: Floor Closers

The BTS floor closer family covers applications where a surface-mounted closer is architecturally objectionable or where the door geometry doesn't accommodate a head-mounted unit. The BTS80 is a compact floor closer with interchangeable spindles for adaptability across virtually any installation condition, ANSI/BHMA Grade 1. The BTS75V offers adjustable spring size and interchangeable spindles for virtually any floor covering depth. The BTS80 EMB is specifically designed for fire and life safety applications with electromagnetic hydraulic hold-open - the door holds open during normal operations and closes automatically on smoke or fire alarm activation.

RTS88 Series: Overhead Concealed Closer

The RTS88 is dormakaba's overhead concealed door closer. The closer body installs inside the door and the track mounts inside the frame header, leaving no visible hardware on either the door face or the frame. This is the specification for high-end lobbies, architectural glass entry systems, and any installation where maintaining clean door lines is a design requirement. ANSI/BHMA Grade 1.

QDC Series: Commercial Surface Closers

The QDC Series covers three commercial surface closer grades. 

The QDC100 is built for heavy-duty and high-traffic commercial operations.

 The QDC200 is a heavy-duty Grade 1 unit specifically designed for narrow top rail doors - aluminum storefront doors where the door head doesn't have room for a standard closer body profile.

EMR and EMF Hold-Open Systems

dormakaba's G-EMR (electromagnetic hold-open with release on alarm) and G-EMF slide channel assemblies work with the TS93 Series to provide electromagnetic hold-open on doors that need to stay open during normal operations and release automatically on fire or smoke alarm activation. This is the correct specification for corridor fire doors in healthcare and education facilities where doors need to be held open for traffic flow but must self-close on alarm. The hold-open device connects to the building's fire alarm system. When the alarm activates, the electromagnet releases and the TS93 closer drives the door to the closed and latched position.
