About this item
The Ives 8102HD-6 is a commercial-grade straight door pull with a 3/4" round profile and 6" center-to-center mounting, sized for narrower door stiles, sidelite panels, and interior openings where a longer pull would exceed the available mounting surface. Overall length is 6-3/4", projection from the door face is 2-1/4", and clearance between the pull and door surface is 1-1/2". Like all 8102HD series pulls, it's machined from solid bar stock and ships with standard mounting hardware for 1-3/4" doors. Nine finish options are available.
When is a 6" CTC pull the right specification
The center-to-center dimension on a door pull refers to the distance between the two mounting holes. Specifying the correct CTC matters because the mounting holes in the pull must align with a safe drilling zone on the door stile or panel. On a standard commercial hollow metal or solid wood door with a full-width stile, the 10" CTC pull is the most commonly specified size because there's enough stile depth to mount it cleanly. The 6" CTC pull is specified when that stile width is narrower.
Common applications for the 8102HD-6 include glass doors with narrow aluminum stiles where the 10" span would bring mounting holes too close to the glass edge, sidelite panels with limited panel width, narrow interior doors such as closet or equipment room doors with thin stiles, and back-to-back installations on thin glass panels in retail and hospitality environments. On those openings, using the 10" CTC model would put the mounting screws in a structurally weak zone or outside the stile entirely. The 6" pull fits the geometry without compromise.
Construction and mounting hardware details
The 8102HD-6 uses the same solid bar stock construction as the rest of the 8102HD series. Bar stock machining produces a denser, more dimensionally consistent pull than cast or tubular alternatives, which matters on high-traffic doors where handle wobble and surface deformation develop over time on lesser pulls. The 3/4" diameter profile meets standard ADA grip requirements under ANSI A117.1.
Standard mounting hardware ships with every pull: two 1/4-20 x 2-1/4" brass oval head machine screws and two No. 14 countersunk washers, both plated to match the selected finish. This hardware fits standard 1-3/4" door thickness. If the door is thicker, longer screws are available at ordering. Mounting configurations including concealed metal door, concealed wood door, and back-to-back are available as options for installations where through-bolt heads on the door face aren't acceptable.
Finish options and series context
Nine finishes cover the full range of commercial architectural hardware palettes: B3 bright brass (605), B4 satin brass (606), B10 satin bronze (612), B10B oil rubbed bronze (613), B15 satin nickel (619), B26 bright chrome (625), B26D satin chrome (626), PA28 satin aluminum (628), and S32D satin stainless steel (630). The satin stainless 630 is available in 304 and 316 series, with 316 the right choice for coastal or high-moisture environments.
Within the 8102HD line, the 8102HD-6 is the shortest CTC option at 6". The 8102HD-8 covers 8" CTC and the 8102HD-0 covers 10" CTC for wider door applications. For openings requiring a heavier 1" diameter profile rather than the 3/4" round, the 8103HD series covers 8", 10", and 12" CTC sizes. For the full range of Ives pull configurations and sizes, the Ives door pulls catalog is available on this site. The broader architectural door trim section covers coordinating push plates, kick plates, and other trim components. For the complete builders hardware selection across all categories, that section covers door protection, closers, and finish hardware for complete opening packages.
Select your finish and confirm your door stile width and thickness before ordering. The 8102HD-6 is the 6" CTC model. If the stile width accommodates a longer pull, the 8102HD-8 or 8102HD-0 may provide better grip ergonomics for taller users.
