Marks USA M9900 48" Rim Exit Panic Bar Device

The Marks USA M9900 is a Grade 1 rim exit device in the 48-inch bar length. It's built for the doors that see the most daily abuse: school corridors, university buildings, hospital wings, and institutional facilities where exit hardware takes constant traffic and occasional impact from carts, equipment, and rough use.

The 48-inch bar covers doors from 42 to 48 inches wide. For standard 36-inch commercial doors, the M9900 is also available in the 36-inch length. Confirm door width before ordering. Non-handed: the same unit works on left-hand and right-hand doors without modification. Door material is wood or metal, 1-3/4-inch thickness standard. Panic Protector End Cap: The Feature That Reduces Maintenance Calls

Standard exit devices have end caps that protrude from the door at the ends of the device body. In schools, hospitals, and institutional buildings, carts go through doors constantly. A supply cart, a food service trolley, a wheelchair, or a hand truck that clips the edge of the door takes the end cap with it. A broken end cap is a maintenance call, a parts order, and a service visit.

The M9900 has a mitered steel flush-mounted Panic Protector End Cap. It sits flush with the end of the device body with no protruding tab. Carts hit the door edge and the door face. The end cap has no exposed profile to catch on passing equipment. In buildings where exit devices get hit repeatedly every day, this single feature reduces the hardware replacement cycle significantly.

Retrofits Popular Preps

The M9900 is designed to retrofit popular existing exit device preparations. On replacement projects where an older exit device is being swapped out, the M9900 will typically mount to the existing door holes without new drilling. Outside Trim Options

The M9900 ships as the inside exit device only. Outside entry requires separate trim, available in multiple function configurations from the Parts and Accessories section on this page. Entry function trim with lever and cylinder (MESC600A or M195S) allows keyed outside entry. Storeroom trim (MESC600F or M195F) provides outside lever entry by key at all times, matching a storeroom function lockset. Passage trim (MESC600N or M195N) allows free outside entry without a key. Pull-only trim (M411) provides outside pull with no lock function.
