About this item
The Schlage CO-100-993 is a standalone electronic keypad exit trim from Schlage's CO Series, designed for use with compatible panic exit devices in retrofit and new construction applications. It replaces the standard mechanical outside trim on a rim, mortise, or vertical rod exit device with a keypad-controlled electronic reader, giving you PIN-based access control on exit device doors without a networked system, software, or IT infrastructure.
The 993 Exit Trim platform was designed to match CO Series cylindrical and mortise locks aesthetically, so facilities running CO-100 or CO-200 locks throughout the building can maintain a consistent hardware appearance on exit device doors. It's an Allegion manufactured product under the Schlage brand. American Locksets is an authorized Schlage dealer.
What CO-100 Standalone Means for Facility Management
The CO-100 is manually programmable directly at the lock, no PC or network connection required. User credentials (unique 3-6 digit PIN codes) are stored on the device itself. Administrators can add or delete PIN codes at the door at any time, which means you don't need to re-key cylinders or coordinate with IT when an employee leaves. The lock handles up to 500 individual users with unique PINs.
This is the CO-100's core advantage over traditional mechanical exit device trim: when a PIN is compromised or an employee departs, you delete that code at the keypad in under a minute. You don't cut new keys, you don't schedule a locksmith, and you don't replace cylinders.
Function 70: Classroom/Storeroom Operation
The CO-100-993 ships in Function 70, the Classroom/Storeroom configuration. The lockset is normally secure: the outside keypad is required to gain entry from outside. The inside lever on the exit device always allows free egress regardless of the outside status, satisfying life safety codes on all exit-device openings. Valid toggle credentials entered on the exterior keypad can change the lock status from secured to passage mode (free entry) and back, which is useful for loading dock operations, service entrances, or classroom access during open periods.
