The Schlage CO-100 is a standalone electronic lock: it stores up to 500 individual PIN codes directly on the lock, accepts credentials at the 12-button keypad, and runs on four AA batteries for up to two years without any wired connection to anything. No software required to add or delete users. Programming happens directly at the keypad using the mechanical programming key, right at the door. Office Function (50): How It Works

The office function unlocks the outside lever when a valid PIN code is entered. After a preset time, the lock relocks automatically without any manual step from inside or outside. The inside button allows staff to press and hold the door in the unlocked state during business hours, eliminating the need for a PIN code on every outside entry during that period. One press of the inside button unlocks the door when the unlocked period should end.

This is the function for offices, reception areas, supply rooms, and any door where staff controls when the space is locked or unlocked from the inside, and visitors or after-hours personnel need a PIN code from outside.

How to Program the Schlage CO-100

Programming is done manually at the lock without any computer connection. The mechanical programming key that ships with the lock is used to enter and exit programming mode. Once in programming mode, user PIN codes are entered directly on the 12-button keypad. Each user can be assigned one of four credential attributes: Normal (standard code operation), Toggle (code toggles lock between locked and unlocked), Pass-through (door remains unlocked for the next entry after code entry), or Freeze (temporarily suspends all access credentials). Codes can be added or deleted at any time without removing the lock from the door.

The CO-100 stores all 500 user codes in non-volatile memory, meaning a battery change does not erase programmed credentials.

CO-100 vs. CO-200: Which One to Specify

The CO-100 is the manually programmable version. All credential management happens at the door using the programming key and keypad. There's no computer interface, no audit trail, and no remote management. It's the right specification for smaller facilities, single-door applications, and any situation where credential management can be handled by a keyholder on-site.

The CO-200 is the computer-programmable version with an audit trail. It connects to a PC for credential upload, time schedules, and access history download. For facilities requiring documented access records or managing credentials across multiple doors from a central point, the CO-200 is the correct upgrade.
