About this item
The Schlage SUS-A Kit (part number 47282796, SKU SUSAKIT) is the field programming solution for technicians and access control administrators who install, configure, and maintain Schlage AD Series and CO Series electronic locks. It combines the free Schlage Utility Software (SUS) mobile app for Android with a single all-in-one cable that handles both USB-enabled and serial-enabled Schlage devices. This kit replaced the older SUS and HHD (Handheld Device) solution and is now the standard tool for commissioning Schlage electronic access control hardware in the field.
It's an Allegion manufactured product. American Locksets is an authorized Allegion dealer.
What the SUS-A Cable Does and How It Works
The SUS-A cable has two connectors built into one unit: a USB-A connector for Schlage's USB-enabled locks and accessories, and a 2-pin serial connector for serial-enabled devices. You don't need separate cables for different lock generations. One cable, plugged into your Android phone via the SUS mobile app, handles the full programming workflow.
The SUS mobile app is free and available on Google Play. It's designed specifically for use with this cable. Supported Android devices include current flagship models from Samsung, Motorola, and Google. Allegion validates compatibility with flagship phone models released within the past two years.
What You Can Do with the SUS-A Kit
Initialize locks and accessories during first-time installation, whether the device is networked or offline.
Configure and test devices at the door without a laptop or access control workstation. The app's screen layout is designed for field use, so navigation during installation is straightforward.
Update device firmware on site. The SUS app handles firmware pushes directly to the lock through the cable, which matters when deploying locks that need a minimum firmware version before they'll communicate properly with the system.
Transfer access control data to offline locks. For offline devices running Schlage Express, the SUS solution acts as the bridge. You export authorized user lists and credential data from Schlage Express, load them to the mobile device, and the cable transfers that data to the lock at the door. No network connection required at the door.
Download audit trails from locks to the mobile device, then transfer that data back to Schlage Express for analysis and storage. This is the field workflow for audit trail management on offline Schlage devices.
Import and export device configurations using the built-in Import/Export feature, which makes it faster to apply consistent settings across multiple locks on the same project.
Reclass Schlage AD Series locks when function or access level changes are needed without a full reprogram cycle.
The app operates in two user modes: Manager and Operator. This lets site managers restrict what field technicians can access or change during maintenance visits.
Compatible Schlage Devices
AD-400, AD-401, AD-402 | AD-300, AD-301, AD-302 | AD-200, AD-201, AD-250 | CO-200, CO-220, CO-250 | AD Series readers | PIM400, WPR400, WPR401, PIB300, WRI400 | BE367 and FE210 (SPED) locks | CT5000 controller.
