About this item
The Von Duprin CON is a wiring harness with Molex connectors, part of the Allegion Connect system that Von Duprin, Schlage, and Falcon use across their electrified door hardware platform. It's the quick-connect wiring solution that runs between electrified components - from the exit device or lock to the electric power transfer hinge or EPT, and in some configurations between the EPT and locations outside the door frame. If you've been searching "von duprin wire harness", "molex wire harness", or "schlage wire harness" looking for this product, Allegion uses the same Molex connector format across all three of their main brands.
What the CON Harness Does and What It Doesn't Do
The CON harness connects the door hardware - the exit device, electrified lock, trim, or electric strike - to the EPT or electrified hinge. A second harness can run from the hinge or EPT out to locations beyond the door frame. That's the job of the standard CON harness with Molex connectors on both ends.
Here's what it's not for: the CON harness should not be used as the wiring run from the EPT all the way to the power supply. The harnesses use 20-gauge wire, which may not meet the wire gauge specifications for the power supply run depending on your device type and distance. For the leg that ties into the power supply or access control system wiring, Allegion recommends the CON-6W variant - a 6-inch harness with Molex connectors on one end and stripped bare leads on the other. The flying leads tie into your field wiring at appropriate gauge.
CON Harness Variants: Which One You Need
The CON family comes in several configurations:
CON-6 - 6-inch harness, Molex connectors on both ends. Standard door device to EPT connection for hollow metal doors.
CON-12 - 12-inch harness, Molex connectors on both ends. Slightly longer run, same connector format.
CON-32 - 32-inch harness, Molex connectors on both ends. For applications where more length is needed between device and EPT location.
CON-192 - 192-inch harness, Molex connectors on both ends. Very long run applications.
CON-6W - 6-inch harness, Molex connectors on one end, stripped bare wires (flying leads) on the other. This is the power supply interface harness.
CON-W - Harness with connectors one end, stripped leads the other. Variable length versions.
CON-P - Molex connector one end, crimped pins the other. For tight-fit applications including conduit routing.
Consult your door manufacturer for the harness length that fits your specific door and frame configuration.
The Molex Connector: Why Specifiers Look Up Part Numbers
The "Molex Incorporated 560205 0101" part number that shows up in search is the Molex connector component itself - some specifiers and integrators source the connector separately when building custom wiring assemblies or replacing damaged connector ends. The Allegion Connect system uses 8-pin and 4-pin Molex connector formats, and these connectors are industry-standard Molex housings. If you need complete harness assemblies with the connector and wire already assembled, the CON series parts are the right order.
Cross-Brand Allegion Connect Compatibility
The CON harnesses work across the Allegion brand family - Von Duprin, Schlage, and Falcon all use the same Allegion Connect connector format. If your project mixes Von Duprin exit devices with Schlage electrified locks or Falcon trim, the same harness family connects all of them. Service kits with male and female plugs and pins for custom harness modifications are also available in the Allegion pricebook.
