Single-occupancy ADA restrooms need more than a standard privacy lock. Code requires the door to open and close automatically, the occupant to control locking from inside without touching a handle, and anyone outside to know at a glance whether the restroom is occupied or available. Setting all of that up from scratch with individual components takes significant time and creates compatibility risks between controllers, switches, and strikes. The Camden CX-WC-16-PS eliminates all of that. It's a complete barrier-free restroom control kit with SureWave touchless switches, a pre-wired power supply cabinet, an electric strike, and a door contact, all matched and ready to wire.

What's Inside the CX-WC-16-PS Kit

The CX-33PS Advanced Logic Control Relay with integrated 2 amp power supply, pre-wired cabinet and transformer handles all sequencing logic. One CM-331/43S-SGLR single gang wired touchless switch with "WAVE TO LOCK" text, hand icon, and RGB LED light ring mounts inside the restroom. One CM-331/42SW-SGLR double gang wired touchless switch with "WAVE TO OPEN" text, wheelchair symbol, and RGB LED light ring mounts outside for exterior access. One CM-325/42SW short range wired touchless switch with "WAVE TO OPEN" text mounts at accessibility height for the second exterior activation point. One CX-ED2079 Universal electric strike, 12/24V AC/DC, fail safe and fail secure operation with horizontal adjustment and three stainless steel faceplates. One CX-MDA door contact completes the kit.

How the SureWave Touchless System Works

Outside the restroom, a patron waves their hand over the "WAVE TO OPEN" switch. The door operator receives the signal, the electric strike releases, and the door opens. The LED ring outside glows green. That's the signal: nobody's in there, door's available. Once someone's inside, they wave over the interior switch and the door locks. The LED flips to red. Anyone walking up sees it and keeps moving. No rattling the handle, no awkward moment, no guessing. Anyone approaching sees red and knows the restroom is occupied without trying the door. When the occupant is ready to leave, they wave the interior switch again and the door unlocks. No handles, no push buttons, no physical contact required at any point in the sequence.

ADA Compliance and Barrier-Free Design

The CX-WC-16-PS is specifically designed to meet barrier-free door control requirements for single-occupancy accessible restrooms. The touchless switch activation eliminates the need for grasping, pinching, or wrist rotation at any control point, satisfying ADA accessibility requirements for operable hardware. The RGB LED annunciation gives clear occupied and available status without requiring users to approach or test the door. The kit is compatible with Camden's CX-WEC emergency call systems for universal restroom applications where an emergency call function is also required.

What Requires Separate Purchase

The door operator is not included in the CX-WC-16-PS and must be sourced separately. Confirm the door operator is compatible with a 12/24V trigger signal before ordering. The CX-33PS controller outputs a standard relay signal compatible with most commercial automatic door operators.
