Falcon SC70A-61-689 Blade Stop Spacer - Sprayed Aluminum

The SC70A-61-689 blade stop spacer corrects this by lowering the parallel arm shoe by 1/2 inch to clear the blade stop and restore the correct arm geometry for the SC61 Series closer.

Without this spacer on a blade stop frame, the closer either doesn't close properly, creates stress on the arm at the pivot points, or causes premature wear on the closer mechanism. When You Need This Part

You need the SC70A-61-689 if all three of these conditions apply: the closer is a Falcon SC61 Series door closer, the closer is mounted in a parallel arm configuration with a parallel arm shoe (RWPA, HWPA, or HDPA arm), and the door frame has a 1/2-inch blade stop on the stop face.

If the door frame has no blade stop or if the closure is mounted in a regular arm configuration directly to the door (not the frame), this spacer is not needed. If the blade stop is a different dimension than 1/2 inch, confirm with Falcon's technical documentation whether a different spacer is available for that dimension.

Installing the Blade Stop Spacer

The spacer installs between the parallel arm shoe and the door frame face. It positions the shoe at the correct lowered height so the arm pin hole aligns properly for the SC61 closer's arm geometry. The mounting fasteners that secure the parallel arm shoe to the frame pass through the spacer. Installation requires no special tools beyond the standard door closer installation hardware.
