About this item
The Trimco 3915 is a manual extension flushbolt designed specifically for hollow metal double doors. It's part of Trimco's 3910 Series Manual Flush Bolts, a line built around a patented stainless steel finger mechanism that no other flush bolt manufacturer offers. The 3915 is the standard metal door configuration: 1-1/4" wide by 6-3/4" body length, 12-inch rod, 11/16-inch bolt throw, and a 3/4-inch bolt backset, sold for use on the inactive leaf of metal door pairs where the bolt must engage a top header strike and a floor dust-proof strike to hold the inactive door in position.
What Makes the Trimco 3915 Different from Other Manual Flush Bolts
Most manual flush bolts use a stamped steel or brass finger to actuate the bolt. The Trimco 3910 Series uses a patented stainless steel finger, the only stainless steel finger in the manual flush bolt industry. Stainless steel doesn't corrode, doesn't fatigue, and maintains consistent spring tension over years of operation in high-traffic commercial buildings. The body itself is manufactured from a high-density aluminum extrusion, not stamped sheet metal, which provides greater dimensional stability and a tighter fit in the door edge mortise.
The positive spring action on the 3915 completely locks or unlocks the bolt throw with a single lever movement. There's no partial engagement, no bounce, and no false lock. When the lever is driven to the locked position, the bolt is fully projected. When it's retracted, it's fully clear. That reliability is the reason Trimco 3915 is specified by name on commercial building hardware schedules for offices, schools, hospitals, government facilities, retail buildings, and multi-family residential projects.

Installation on Metal Doors
The Trimco 3915 is installed on the door edge of the inactive leaf in a standard metal door pair. The body routes flush into the door edge, the rod connects to the bolt at the top of the door and a floor bolt at the bottom, and the lever and strike mount on the door face and door frame respectively. The 12-inch standard rod accommodates standard door heights up to approximately 7 feet. For doors above 7 feet 6 inches, an 18-inch rod should be specified.
