LCN 4011T Heavy Duty Track Closer - Mounting hinge side (Pull Side) - Size 1 (ADA)

The LCN 4011T is the track arm version of the LCN 4010 Smoothee heavy duty closer in Size 1, sized and certified for ADA-compliant interior door applications. Size 1 covers interior doors from 26 to 34 inches wide and is the spring strength that meets the 5-pound maximum opening force requirement for accessible interior doors under ANSI A117.1 and ADA standards. If the application requires ADA opening force compliance on a narrow interior corridor door, office entry, or accessible restroom door, the 4011T Size 1 is the LCN 4010 Smoothee specification for that opening.

The "T" in 4011T designates the track arm. The arm connects from the closer body to a track mounted on the door, and as the door swings open, a roller slides along the track. This allows the door to open to 90 or 180 degrees without the pivot geometry of a regular arm going past the corner of the door frame. The track arm is specified when the door needs to open flat against a wall, when the reveal (space between the door face and the stop) is very shallow, or when the installation template shows a track configuration is required. Reveal must not exceed 1/8 inch for the standard arm version; for double egress arm, the reveal limit is 3-5/16 inches.

4011T vs 4011-REG: Track Arm vs Regular Arm

Both the 4011T and the 4011-REG are LCN 4010 Smoothee heavy duty closers mounted on the hinge side (pull side) of the door. The difference is the arm configuration.

The 4011-REG uses a regular pivot arm. The arm bends at the elbow as the door opens, with one end fixed to the closer body and the other fixed to the frame. Standard for most commercial interior doors.

The 4011T (this product) uses a track arm. One end connects to the closer body, the other end has a roller that slides along a track on the door. Track arms are needed when the door must open beyond 90 degrees without arm interference, when 180-degree opening against a wall is required, or when the door and frame geometry specifically requires a slide-track rather than a pivot arm.

Installation: Peel-N-Stick Templates and SRT Screws

The 4011T includes peel-and-stick mounting templates at the standard 2-1/2" x 6" hole pattern. The templates are applied to the door and frame to mark the drill points before installation, which eliminates measurement error and speeds up the mounting process in the field. Self Reaming and Tapping Screws (SRT) are included and mount directly into aluminum frame construction without pre-drilling. Head frame clearance requires 1-1/2 inches minimum. If the door's top rail is less than 3-3/4 inches, the 4010T-18 plate is required (plate requires 2 inches minimum). Clearance behind the door must be at least 2-1/4 inches for both 90 and 180 degree installation.
