About this item
The DH-X-82-F is the entry/office function: ANSI F82, two-mode push button, non-handed, flat lever on a 3-3/8" wrought brass rose, with a 6-pin Schlage C keyway cylinder and a stainless steel deadlocking latch.
The F82 entry function is the lock that gives inside staff control over outside access. One push of the inside button locks the outside lever. One key turn from outside or one turn of the inside lever releases it. That's the standard mode for office suite entrances, break rooms, and spaces that need after-hours lockdown with easy inside release during normal operating hours. ANSI F82 Two-Mode Push Button: Both Modes Explained
The inside push button on the DH-X-82-F has two distinct operating modes that provide different levels of outside access control.
Mode one, simple push: Press the inside button once. The outside lever locks. Entry from outside requires a key. Turning the inside lever retracts the latch for inside egress and simultaneously releases the outside lever lock. The next time someone needs to enter from outside after that, they need a key again.
Mode two, push and turn: Press the inside button and rotate it simultaneously. The outside lever locks in a more secure state. A key from outside retracts the latch bolt for entry, but the outside lever remains locked and the button remains set. Someone on the inside must manually release the button to return the door to normal operation. Turning the inside lever for egress does NOT release the outside lever in this mode.
Mode two is specified for spaces where outside entry between visitors shouldn't reset the lock state. A keyed visitor enters, conducts business, and leaves. The door remains locked for the next approach without any staff having to re-engage the button.

X Series vs. J Series and Z Series
The DH-X-82-F is the X Series (flat lever, zinc diecast). The DH-J-82-F is the J Series version of the same F82 function with a J-profile lever. The DH-Z-82SLFIC-F is the Z Series version with Schlage Large Format Interchangeable Core (LFIC) prep for facilities running Schlage LFIC master key programs. The DH-X-82IC-F is the X Series version with SFIC prep for BEST/Arrow/Falcon SFIC programs. All four deliver the same ANSI F82 function. Choose based on lever aesthetic and cylinder format requirements for the facility's master key system.
